You shouldn't have to carry a Anker Solix 3000. Our truck is the biggest portable battery on the market lol. Ford really needs to get this addressed with a camp mode and pet mode.

Come on @Ford Motor Company
I agree. The Solix was part of another project that I set up for my camper for primitive camping sites. I can power my camper at sites with no electrical connections. Since I have the storage battery, I use it now camping with my rooftop tent and also I can use the truck’s battery to charge the Solix in less than an hour and turn the truck off.
Nonetheless I do agree, we should have by now a camp mode and a pet mode for our trucks. Most likely the hardware doesn’t allow it. Software is another story. Since Ford decided to discontinue the truck in its current form, (very disappointed with Ford), we may see a camp mode and a pet mode on the next EREV Lightning.
I am not holding my breath for Ford to download a camp mode on my Lightning. I figured other ways to deal with the shortcomings of the truck.

I just did this over the weekend 3 days, 2 nights. I was camping and using pro power on board. I used the PPO to run my heated blanket in my roof top tent each night. I also used it to power my electric kettle, electric cooler and nespresso machine. I arrived at camp with 65% SOC and left this morning at 56% SOC. It got down in to the mid 30’s. I did get in my truck Saturday morning and out the heat on to get warmed up. Overall I was happy with the amount of power I used. However, constantly worrying about the PPO going out overnight sucks. Ford really needs to fix the minimum draw issue.

Glad it worked for you. My Case 1, 2, 3 is intended to quantify:
  • Case 2-1 parasitic power usage of unloaded DC/AC inverter. Note: the parasitic inverter usage will differ by circuit: cabin 2.4 kW vs. bed 9.6 kW
  • Case 3-2: Power savings in truck systems with truck OFF and power inverter ON.

9% usage over 48(h)? Do you have 123 kWh or 131 kWh? Were the AC outlets on the entire time? Which AC circuit (cabin or truck bed?)
  • 131 kWh * 0.09 / 48h = 246W
  • 123 kwh * 0.09 /48h = 231W

Your experience is a great user experience. There's not quite enough data to pinpoint truck's systems power usage for others. You were using the AC power as intended, but this obscures the metrics I suggested.

Right? It seems like a proper dog mode that disabled the window switches and seat heaters would be pretty easy. But no
You know, it's funny...we occasionally get a Ford rep (engineer?) in these forums, and I've seen Dog Mode promised before. It can't be that hard, but why they won't do it is beyond me.

I have the 131kwh battery. I did keep the truck turned off and used the outlets as intended.

There is a FORscan tweak one can do to get that with the 2023's.

Enable Pro Power Onboard with truck off (2022-2023 only. Standard on 2024+).
Creates a Sync toggle in the Pro Power settings screen. See this post for operational details. This mod requires a PCM update that came out in early 2025 via FDRS. However, the Charge Port OTAs that came in early 2026 will also work (PT-25.13.12 and PT-25.8.5).
7D0-10-03 xxxx xx2x xx--
7D0-10-04 xxx* xxxx xx-- If 0, change to 8. If 4, change to C. If 6, change to E.
If you enabled the Advanced Charging Screen, you likely have a 6.

I have the PT-25.8.5 update but not PT-25.13.12, and doing the FORscan change did not work to enable pro power onboard with the truck off.

I suppose I need the second one PT-25.13.12...I guess I'll be getting it "SOON?"

25.8.5 should be the right one for the 2023 model year. 25.13.12 was for 2022s. According to the threads on those updates

Yes, I saw that, too.

I have the 25.8.5 since February sometime, so I thought maybe the newer version was required because of a comment about the FORscan modification where it used "and"...

"This mod requires a PCM update that came out in early 2025 via FDRS. However, the Charge Port OTAs that came in early 2026 will also work (PT-25.13.12 and PT-25.8.5)."

So now I'll have to figure out why the FORscan mod didn't work on my truck.

I double checked that the change was there.

I wonder is there a delay before it shows up in the APP I wonder?

Or maybe it shows up in the truck menu when it says "Creates a Sync toggle in the Pro Power settings screen" and I have to toggle it there...that just occurred to me...my bad...dang!

Have to check in the truck menu tomorrow...alas.

Oh shoot, I thought the "operational details' page image was of the APP...must be a toggle in the truck menu! Argh!

That’s because (unlike others) I like to post nice straight glare-free pictures of Sync. Its a compliment you thought it was an app screenshot. ;)

Good point on my note about OTAs. I’ll change “and” to “or”. One was for 23s and the other 22s.

Ha, if I had read it more carefully, and thought about it more, and looked more closely, I would have known it was the truck screen.

Getting old and needing glasses to read lends itself to such errors on my part.

All's well that ends well - PPOB running with truck off as we speak.

Thanks for sharing how to implement the feature!
