Hello all. I took possession of my truck on July 1st. Drove for a couple days, loved it , my wife realized that the front passenger door handle would notelectronically lock or unlock the doors. No biggie I thought, I'll take it in and see if they can fix it for me. Took a week to get the appointment, no problem.

They took the truck and called that night to tell me they needed to order a new handle and have it painted to match the truck (antimatter blue). So the next day I took the truck back and drove it for 5 days till they called and said the handle was there. I took it in, that night no communication, so I called in the morning.

They said the tech could not make it yesterday and should be in today. 2 days go by and they called and said the new handle was not working either. There was a communication problem that they needed an electrical specialist to look at it. I asked how long they think to get it working? 2 days for the tech to get there and look at it. They would call most nights just before they closed to tell me the tech was still working on it. 12 DAYS more......every-time I go or call its the same story the tech is looking for the problem, one time they infer that I had spliced wires in the door to hook up the dash cam I have in there! I told them to follow the cable it's hooked up to the USB port behind the center console! Went in today same story, only now they say they are waiting to hear from the Ford hotline, they should have done that on day 2! They literally have had the truck now more than I have had it in my possession!
I dont know if I should call a lawyer for lemon law, just suck it up and wait or jump off a cliff!
Also found out today they had the console vault and first aid kit in the back of there shop since I got the truck but nobody bothered to look for it, geesh.

This is the forth vehicle I have bought from them. Normally no problem, I just think they are not up to fixing this thing, but I guess no dealer is at this time.

What do you think?

I say wait. Its a fabulous truck otherwise, right?
they are in catch up mode to teach their techs. That said it is a very small potion of the dealers operation, so they don’t want to waste resources by having a tech out of work while he is learning.
Being an early adapter is never the most pleasant experience

Escalate within the dealership. Have them give you a plan, or give you the truck back until they have one. Switch dealers if needed.

If they put you in a loaner, you have no legal rights here...I don't know why everyone thinks a lawyer is the answer to all of their problems. In NY after 30 days you could initiate lemon law on it, but I don't know how Ford would handle finding a replacement vehicle.

You could take it to another dealer. You could call Ford Corporate and complain. I would find the largest dealer in your area and take it there, and hope they have the best service department.

Dealerships are very short on techs since Covid hit. Many of the older guys just retired and never came back and the new generation either doesn’t have the work ethic or the knowledge (yet). Combine that with OEM’s cutting times on warranty repairs and a glut of good paying customer pay work, and warranty tickets are not picked up by the techs.

Ask for a meeting with the service manager, don’t mention the work Lawyer or they will stop working on your truck. If that doesn’t get any satisfaction call Ford’s customer hotline and open a case, that usually motivates the dealership.

Lemon law is an option, but you’re just screwing yourself. The dealership will be happy to buy your truck back for MSRP, fix it, then sell it for a big ADM. They have no obligation to find you another truck, so you get to not have a Lightning anymore.

My dealer Raceway Ford in So Cal, did not have the provision for resale. They just asked I not tell them if I did sell it. I think they were hoping I would not come and get it!

Raceway sucks, I heard they are about to be sold if they havnt all ready. I work 1 mile from them, live 6 miles from away and I will be driving 25 miles to Hemborg Ford in Norco if I need service.
Rceway had ADM which made me switch deers, if I didn't switch I can say for sure I wouldn't have gotten the call from Hemborg to be prioritized to place my order with no ADM. I went to Hemborg 3 times to verify no ADM so when James in fleet got the wave 7 allotments he thought of me because I was there so many times. After I placed my order Raceway called me to see if I was still interested, I ask if they have ADM still and he said they never had one. But yet I was told via email and in person they had ADM. I've never had service from Raveway but this is they Second bad post I've seen.
