if you didn't know there are two different tailgates - XLT and Pro have one design and Larat and Platinum have another. The Lariat and Platinum have small wings on each side that cover the back up lights. When the tail gate is up it uses the backup lights built into the light bar.

The two tailgates are not interchangeable, unless you perhaps swapped out tail lights too.
