Sounds like Sunrun doesn't want to do this unless they can also sell you a new solar system. You can buy the equipment from Sunrun and hire your own electrician to do the install.

It's one of several parts of the HV DC wiring harness. I don't think the inverters are the only parts it connects to, but I don't know what else it attaches to.
