  1. What the coming F-150 Lightning EREV needs (per Motor Trend)

People want 700 miles of range so they can tow 250+ miles without stopping and that’s what they are used to with gas 150s. Is it a completely silly expectation for 1/2 ton owners? I think so, because most people pulling campers, hot shot trucking, vehicle transport etc. across the country are...
  2. How to clean between the cab and bed?

I would just get a wooden dowel rod from HD/Lowes and start picking at it
  3. The Frunk costs MORE?! (Mach-E)

Not to defend Fords decision to cut corners, If you’ve ever seen the frunk of a Mach E you’d understand a little bit. It’s fairly small - about a duffel bag - so unless you really need every bit of extra room most people are just gonna toss things in the rear. When the heat pump was introduced...
  4. Ford really is all-in on the $30K BEV

It’s interesting that the gas F-series currently has a 5:1 sales ratio over the maverick, so you wonder if the 30k EV will outperform the Lightning in sales. Nobody really know if the pricing of the Lightning was the primary constraint to sales given its similar pricing to its gas 150...
  5. Factory Wheel Black Replacement Lug Nuts From Driven Products

These appear to be similar to the OEM style Gorilla 61148BCX that some people have used with the stock wheels
  6. Anyone in the 200,000 mile club yet?

Hopefully @Helium is over 150,000 by now, haven’t heard anyone crack the 200,000 mark.
  7. Price per KW to charge at home🏠

It’s a program though our utility company. You sign up, they install a Wallbox and are able to communicate with it via WiFi. A flat $31 fee shows up on your bill and the kWh logged from the charger are subtracted from your house utility meter.
  8. Will You be buying the Lightning EREV?

Curious to quantify what other Lightning owners are thinking...
  9. Important Update: Ford EV Roadmap & Future of F-150 Lightning (EREV Next Gen Model) - ⛔️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS

Hopefully Ford realizes that the product wasn't the main problem, their dealership network is THE major problem. FMC knows from telematics that 300 miles of daily range is good for an extremely large majority of their F-150 customer base. They are gonna have to do a much better job educating and...
  10. Important Update: Ford EV Roadmap & Future of F-150 Lightning (EREV Next Gen Model) - ⛔️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS

True, the dealers are gonna be happy when you get app reminders to bring in your EREV for its 5,000 mile generator oil change and various other gas engine maintenance
  11. Important Update: Ford EV Roadmap & Future of F-150 Lightning (EREV Next Gen Model) - ⛔️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS

I really hope it still gets 300 miles of pure EV range but I'm not super optimistic since they probably want to save cost/weight on the battery. Honestly, Ford should make the generator optional to appeal to the pure EV and Frunk connoisseur crowd and essentially you could appeal to a wider...
  12. Strut/Shock - when do replace?

Did the Eibachs at 30k miles and the stock ones didn’t have too much oil leakage - but they were very easy to compress with one hand as others have mentioned. It’ll be interesting to see how long the Eibachs last in comparison
  13. Price per KW to charge at home🏠

$31/month flat fee for unlimited night/weekend EV charging in Florida. My truck uses around 500kwh each month so it works out to about $0.06/kwh.
  14. Florida Power & Light Unlimited EV Charging

We did and it is fantastic. No issues so far with the FPL branded Wallbox that got installed. It reliably kicks on automatically during off peak windows when the truck is plugged in. There is an option to override and charge during peak times in the app (for an extra cost) that seems simple...
  15. Needed: torque values for the Lightning ER front and rear shock mounting bolts.

Reference for future DIYers… 7/8” worth of aluminum bar shims was the magic number to get the shock to line up with the mounting hole when compressed with a floor jack. After running the bolt through and taking the pressure off the jack, the shims fall right out
