Something interesting I noticed, Ford released this EV race truck a while back. Based on how t3 was described, this truck was basically previewing the t3 design in racing form. But I theorized at the time that some of the styling cues and shapes could make their way over to the skunk truck...
A few close up stills taken from the b-roll footage. One gives you a better idea of the character lines running alone the rear end which you can't see in most images. Another shows what the truck looks like without the LIDAR bump.
Overall, even though all we can see is the basic shape under...
CE1 sounds quite promising. I think they have the right approach, find innovative ways to make affordable, smaller EVs that are desirable and fun. That's what Ford does best, affordable aspirational vehicles.
I just hope their future designs are a little sexier than this. Alan Clark has said...
This is one of those moments where it's important for people to step away from how close they are to this issue. What I mean by this is everyone here is a lighting fan, pretty much all of you own one. So understandably, you all want to see it continue.
But the reality is in the border auto...
I actually genuinely hope this is what it is lol. A 4 door ute, something that looked like a sports car with a bed would be incredible. Ford already offers so much variety in the truck market, small, mid-sized, full-sized, all sorts of prices and powertrains, everything from full EV to a...
Yeah it definitely would have ran a sub 6:40 without that power loss at the end, hopefully they resolve whatever caused that. Insanely impressive overall.
Can't wait to see how the learnings from this influence future Ford performance EVs and hybrids that you and I can buy.
These are Ford factory employees who were shown the truck in private. The pic with her in it is the roof of... something. It could be the truck, it's in the same room as the truck they were shown, or it could be another product. But it gives us a rough idea of the shape and height of the roof...
Yeah who knows if it's even accurate lol, it's all piecing together patent images and closeups of stuff covered in tarps. But it is fun imo. A few more of those tarp images, can't make out much, but if this is the truck, the roofline appears to be quite low, even lower than a maverick which I'm...
Sounds promising, I know you probably can't comment on this, or if you've seen the truck, but I really hope design appeal was still an important consideration to the team. Sometimes designers get a little weird when it comes to meeting aero and efficiency targets.
The reason I believe this could be t3 is the only glimpse we ever caught of the t3 was a closeup of a clay model which I'll add below. Notice the pretty distinct line that appears to wrap under the side glass and flicks up to define the top of the fender as it nears the front of the truck.
If this is it, then it appears to have a shorter hood, with a decent sized cab and bed. But hey, one of the many benefits of people not having kids anymore is maybe that leads to smaller 2 door vehicles making a comeback, I can dream lol.
The top pic is the patent, the bottom pic is an AI...
