The map is out of date, there are several in Michigan's UP (Tesla/Chargepoint) and the map data shows none. It is good that the maps are not keeping up with reality as that means you are closer than you think to a DCFC.
I live in Denver, CO and parked my Lightning on the street for the first year while my garage was getting supersized (35' x 28' with an 8' door and 9' ceilings). It was fine, no issues. Being able to charge on the Ford Pro Charger while it was outside would have been awesome. I don't think...
We love our Lightning for both short and long (1200 mile) trips! We have about 27K miles over the last 21 months, and we use way more than our old ICE F150. Best vehicle I have ever owned!
It also loves city driving with 3.75-4.5 mi/kwh! I got mine in January as well and got 2.0 kWh without preconditioning driving about 4K in Colorado mountains. No garage to precondition in.
I am getting 3.5 or so around town in 60-70 weather, so if you need a generator in an emergency situation that would be more useful. My winter was 2 mi/kwh in a very cold colorado winter over 4K miles mostly to the mountains and back.
