Like many automakers, Ford didnāt realize that BEVs were going to be thrust into some culture war nonsense. I donāt blame Farley for the calls that Ford made at the time ā both building these trucks and cancelling the program.
In the end, I feel lucky to own one of these machines.
Iāve owned...
Literally, YMMV. The power available that low into the SoC is dependent upon a lot of factors -- including environmental factors. I avoid running that low, because charging performance down at the end of SoC is quite slow, as it is for nearly every EV.
I am planning to get 10-15 years out of my ā23 Lariat. Hoping that weāll see another proper electric F150 again by then.
Like others, I am not interested in the complexity and maintenance of an EREV. Even looking past those issues, the frunk was a step change in pickup truck utility. I wouldnāt...
Article itself is unreadable AI slop.
I haven't noticed ANY degradation in performance of my 2023 Lariat. If anything, the truck gets better range/efficiency than the day I bought it.
Like @TaxmanHog, I have a garage filled with two wheeled machines for when I want to be truly quick. I don't...
Ford is choosing to call it the "Truckle" versus the obvious Fob Buckle conjugation.

I am at 47k miles on my OE Grabber all season tires. Plenty of tread left. It's looking like they'll go to 60k miles.
I do a lot of road-tripping without any stoplight to stoplight shenanigans, which I suspect helps.
I would not use the guess-o-meter as a basis for an efficiency increase.
Between parts getting to know each other and software updates, I have seen a marginal increase in my typical mi/kwh as I come up to 50k miles.
As for heat pump vs resistive heating, there are trade-offs. For example, the...
Yep. This happened with our daughter's Benz as well.
Harley-Davidson dropped the telematics and app support for my ELW Livewire less than 3 years into the ownership experience.
As long as everything works and the app is actively maintained, I really don't need a constant stream of vehicle software updates. I'd rather have stability and performance versus some new fangled nonsense landing every few weeks. It's a truck.
That's not to say that I don't appreciate updates...
The thermal stresses of DC fast charging is way overplayed. Studies have shown DC fast charging isn't nearly as detrimental to battery life as people once thought. Modern EVs like our Lightnings are quite good at managing temperatures across the modules. It's not like a phone or laptop where the...
