It eventually broke for me when Ford changed something with the API. I got tired of the cat and mouse game with Ford changing something and causing the hack to stop working, so I no longer use this.
I have three vehicles in my FordPass, but it looks like I can only link one to Alexa. Is that correct? If so, that's really a bummer.
I really miss the Siri shortcuts workaround that was posted on Reddit, but it broke a while back.
This must have been for your Mach E? The Lightning had a 3 year "free trial." So the earliest it could expire for the Lightning would be mid 2025 based on earliest deliveries for the Lightning in 2022. I took delivery July 2022 and my Bluecruise expires July 2025 per my Ford.com Dashboard.
But...
I'm sorry to hear about your experience, but statistically it is an anomaly. 17,XXX lovely, no-issue miles in mine. That doesn't make your experience any less frustrating, but it's not the norm.
I picked up mine a year ago this time next week. Just crossed over 16,000 miles. Only issue I've had was the active dam fault message so many others have also received.
I've got this: https://ring.com/products/car-cam
But I am not a huge fan. Lot of false alarms, always has to be plugged into the OBD, etc. For some reason the sensors from Bluecruise periodically trip it and cause a motion alert, even when the truck is off.
Except that's not true. It's not a matter of just having an adapter and plugging it in. Tesla can and will software limit who/what can access and charge on the network using said adapter.
That's an interesting theory. I do drive exclusively in 1PD. I may turn it off temporarily just to test this theory. It makes sense. The only thing is that I've seen this reported with ICE F-150s a good bit too.
Just to update the thread. The dealer wasn't able to fix this issue for me. I still get the same error message every few days about the air dam fault. I'm just going to live with it I suppose.
@Ford Motor Company opened a case and they were really acting like they wanted to help at first...
