  1. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

There's been a few developments in the program over the last few months. Due to the ineptitude of NGRID, they are claiming that houses with existing behind-the-meter PV systems cannot participate in the program due to the intricacies of Net Metering. Their claim being, with the Net Meter in...
  2. Reddit Repost: "Features you're probably not using (or not using correctly)?”

Wireless phone charger = wireless phone heater. That thing sucks out loud.
  3. Ford Nav is better than ever!

I had such a negative experience with the on-board nav once that I haven't bothered to give it a second try. The only reason I would ever try it again is if I'm in an area with zero cell coverage and Google Maps is handicapped.

With the lowest amount of energy possible, I hate this. Net metering is 100% possible with the truck in the equation, it's just the utilities not wanting to implement the hardware. Put the charger on it's own utility meter and treat it as a quasi new-service. Compare the interval values...
  5. What is your truck's nickname?

    The "Red Rocket". Fight me.
  6. Wasn't expecting to have to use Pro Power Onboard so soon but....

That would be the cat's meow if it was a whole home solution. The N-G bond issue is remediated by bringing a G wire into the generator receptacle box, bonding the box, but not landing the G wire into the receptacle prongs.
  7. Wasn't expecting to have to use Pro Power Onboard so soon but....

I spent more time installing that hardware than actually using it. Oh well, it's there just-in-case.

The utility only cares about the aggregate inverter size connected in parallel to their grid. They don't care how they connect. The TOU rate topic is interesting, and I have little to no confidence in NGRIDs/Eversources ability to figure it out.
  9. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

The DPU recently expanded the Cap Exempt Net Metering threshold to 25 kWac (up from 10). I believe the Delta invreter that's part of the HIS is 9 kWac, so unless you have a large existing PV system, there shouldn't be any conflict. https://www.mass.gov/news/dpu-expands-net-metering-program
  10. Ford Won't Give Me the Pro Charger 80A

That Emporia is a very high quality unit. Kinda surprised it's so inexpensive. SunRun royally screwed up when I bought my truck and sent me two CSPs. Sold one on eBay and bought an Emporia. Installed a CSP at my house and the Emporia at a family members house. Worked out great.
  11. Ford Won't Give Me the Pro Charger 80A

If I bought a new one today, I'd sell the free unit and get a Gen1 Tesla that's capable of 80A and get adapters. If the industry keeps trending away from CCS and toward NACS, then your future proof. That math changes if you want to hedge against whole home backup systems.
  12. Comma AI self driver assistant On Sale- is it worth it?

I'm intrigued by this thing. Has anyone installed it who also has a Fitcam dashcam? Are the two symbiotic w/r/t to the power supply?
  13. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

FWIW, I received the invitation email from the program this afternoon. I'm hoping they can do the site inspection this week. The invite call me "cohort two" so seemingly they've divided the program into at least two tranches.
  14. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

Only Lightnings, Leafs, and Kias at the moment.
  15. Should I avoid a used ‘22?

IMO the '22 ER is the best configuration possible. Bonus points if it's equipped with Max Tow. Double plus bonus if it's Atlas Blue. WHY DID THEY CANCEL THAT COLOR!?
