I just took my hard cover off last week to move a treadmill. I was lazy on putting it back on immediately. Guess what, my efficiency was the same as it always was. No perceivably drop and no perceivable gain when I put it back on.
I've always found that area in any vehicle collects snow and ice. The wipers jam up, and the fluid sprayers get block. It's nothing new to the Lightning. Yesterday I had scrap and chisel out that area on the Equinox work vehicle we have.
There is no improvement. 3 years with this truck with and without the tonneau and ive seen no difference. This has been tested by many others. Any change you saw was due to other factors.
