This. I went with the 18" base Lightning wheels for my snow tires for this reason. The weight requirement and shortages also made it harder to find snow tires in my size that had good enough load rating.
Both sides would be nice but that's extra wiring and parts not all designers want to spend money on and add vehicle complexity and weight. I don't understand why the passenger side is the best place. The driver has to walk all the way around the vehicle to plug in instead of plugging in right...
I really wanted the Silverado with the max range, midgate and flex tailgate but I couldn't justify the asking price. Once I'm nearing the end of my lease I'll check my options on the used market. There's also the matter of how often I'll use those features. I also didn't like the omission of...
Walmart already having the land is definitely in their favor. For me, DCFC is 2x to 3x the cost of home charging, which is kind of ridiculous but I expect the cost of the equipment and installation is high. Having a charger on site can influence where we go while in a trip, if we have a 25...
The unusual "perfect storm" conditions of 2022-23 weren't going to hold, if finance companies and automakers expected they were and didn't hedge their bets somehow, then that's on them. Used EVs had pretty good resale prices because EVs were hot at the time. New units were production capacity...
As far as I understand, sales are slow for all vehicles. Also a lot of people don't tend to switch unless they think gas and diesel prices will be high for a while.
There's still a lot of decently speced new Lightnings available at relatively attractive prices with incentives (IMO).
It's often not that hard to add a charger at the home. Ford even offered to pay for installing one. Even if there's not a lot of panel capacity, there's chargers that can use a 20A 240V circuit, good enough to charge for a pretty decent commute while you sleep.
Supporting renters is a problem...
