  1. $12,500 tax credit possible?

Just not proud of taking welfare from taxpayers, especially when I can afford it. That is the gripe about the Tesla handouts, do people who can afford $150k cars deserve a taxpayer funded handout?
  2. $12,500 tax credit possible?

Using your cell phone analogy, the $12500 or even the $7500 government incentive is the same as when Obama gave out free cell phones.
  3. $12,500 tax credit possible?

You are picking up what I am laying down......
  4. $12,500 tax credit possible?

Had an EV, took advantage of the FREE government discount......for the 3 years I owned the vehicle, nothing ruined the EV experience more than the guilt of that $7500 discount.
  5. Ceramic Coating - Price and Details Thread

Finally found time to ceramic coat my truck today. Feynlab lite is so easy and so nice, $40. DIY FTW.

All good arguements. But may I add a few to ponder. 1)Coal and Natural gas fired power plants are used to charge the majority of EV’s, Solar and wind can’t currently sustain the Grid alone. 2) mining of lithium and other rare earth materials for batteries is pretty devastating 3)Battery...

I am interested in what information are you dealing with that is wrong? let’s just vet the information directly versus vetting for only experts.

I agree with most of the above. If you like the lightning by all means buy it and enjoy it for what it is. Unfortunately EV is super political in nature and that is where the lines get drawn. Just how the country is right now. Having owned an EV, it served its purpose, enjoyed the...

Brian, With all due respect..... what would the vetting criteria be? 1) prior ownership of an EV? 2) works in automotive field? 3)Engineering degree required? If these are what you are thinking, your forum members who are qualified to post would be very limited. most lightning owners would...

Tesla fanbois are a surly bunch. The CT is still in the quoting phase, my company is currently quoting significant CT content. Tesla is demanding 6-9 months timing to launch and for reference, the fastest time frame done to date is 18 months on the parts we are quoting, 6-9 months in not...

This is exactly why the lightning needs its own standalone forum.
  12. Limited Lightning Tow Range

Personally I will stick with a 36 gallon tank F150 and save the extra 3-4 hours charging time, weekends are already short enough.
  13. Ceramic Coating - Price and Details Thread

I used clay bars years ago, they do work great for pulling contamination but don’t add any additional shine. NanoScrub mitts have replaced clay, much easier to use and reuse able appx 50x. DA polishing in my personal opinion as providing maximum gloss prior to applying ceramic coating.

The way to see paint etching, rail dust and fallout is when you wash your truck , as you dry it, you can see vertical streaks where metal stains have left residue. it’s hard to capture with a picture. When the paint is dry it’s not as noticeable. I will say I found more dirt nibs in the paint...
  15. Ceramic Coating - Price and Details Thread

I did it myself with a DA polisher, rupes yellow pad and rupes DA-fine polish. It did not require a two step compound.
