I had the guys at Big Brand Tire in Bastrop do the swap for me. We watched the video of a guy doing one and show them that it was actually easy so they agreed to do it for $750. I had asked to be there when they do it but nobody called me until they were done. If they had I would have had my...
I want to thank ya'll, especially @Ajzride For the loan of the mongoose cable, the knowledge and information. The first problem I had was a battery, but it was also hit a few days later with a rodent problem apparently. I don't have a lift or access to one so I had to take it to Ford to have...
thanks ya'll, I will buy that today. Had surgery yesterday but out walking now. I had the truck towed to the dealer to look at, they want $1,600 to splice all the wires. They basically twisted them all together and were able to clear all the codes but did not drive it around, they have to do...
After replacing the battery pack the BCMC and the BECM still will not come back online, I cleared the codes and retest of course a few ties and nothing, I have verified the fuses are ok. I think there has to be a cable issue, there were some wire coating clippings on the top of the old battery...
I am going to go forward this next week with the battery replacement from the salvage one, it has 35k miles on it so it should be good, all I am out is the cost to pick it up and put it in the return if it doesn't work. The first problem was with the battery pack so that I don't think went away.
I am thinking of buying the salvage battery available in Houston, it is a long range battery and putting that in. Would cost me about $4k to do the whole thing, must less than they wanted to do one module which really would have caused me more problems down the road.
What are your thoughts on...
Update: not great. I was able to slide under the truck enough to take the skid plate off and disconnect the cable, sprayed it out with contact cleaner and CDA, re-seated and tapped it in to make sure it was well seated; re ran the network test but no improvement.
Thank you guys, what you are saying makes sense, I tried reaching into get a pull on it but cannot, working on getting a mobile mechanic to come out and lift the truck up and pull the skid plate down so we can disconnect and re-connect the connector. There is a possibility that it is a problem...
This was a Build of 11/22 We had power train faults that were caused by the shifter, they replaced it be every now and then it came back but could not get it to do it with them so they did nothing, I think that was the early indicators.
The shop said they called ford and asked for consideration...
Initially when it was reporting the out of balance it was drive-able but degraded, then it was showing low power; It gives the wrench symbol but does not tell me what is wrong. I had originally driven it home from the dealership but it stopped working all together a few days later so it sat...
Yes, it made it to 102k miles and ford was like F- you its your problem now. the whole ford experience was one that pissed me off, they would not even give me an official on letter head type estimate, just a list of parts and a price. It has 106k now on it but its dead.
