Not true. The EREV or “Harvester” as they call it was originally an option, and actually still is. You can still reserve a pure BEV option on their website today.
However, I doubt they will ever release the BEV-only model. If they do it will certainly come after the EREV as they have said 85%...
What’s the difference between this and 25.8.5? Notes are the same.
also I find it fascinating that it enables the fob or PaaK to unlock when near the charge port. Does that mean the hardware sensors for it have been there on the charge port the whole time?
At least you have a simple fix. Mine was a little different. I had to shut off the truck and open the driver door. I got to where I would sit in the parking lot until CarPlay worked. Then the other issue was it would connect, but sometimes no audio at all. That one I could at least toggle the...
I also have an iPhone 17 Pro and only use PaaK. Bluetooth is needed for both PaaK and CarPlay (it initializes over BT then creates a direct WiFi connection). Toggling Bluetooth on/off should not be needed.
I would probably reset both PAAK and CarPlay, just delete both and re-pair to see if that...
Hopefully Rivian adds CarPlay before I need my next truck. Or Scout will still produce a pure BEV model. I still have both reserved.
I do not tow or drive long distances with my truck and never will. An EREV is completely pointless for me and I do not want it.
Over a decade of owning Ford...
ChatGPT 5 surprised me because it's usually wrong but I actually think this is the correct answer. Who knows, maybe some intern at Ford copied the actual technical document into ChatGPT to get a summary of it and now it's part of its training data
In 1-Pedal Drive mode, the Lightning...
I've had this happen too, same thing it was a big grey trailer in front of me. My guess is the truck was too tall for the radar in the bumpers to see it properly and being grey on a cloudy day also made it invisible. Now I turn it off if I'm behind a truck (or motorcycle, just in case)
OPD never applies the brakes, in fact it's the opposite. You have to manually step on the brake to get more stopping power if needed. When you let off the accelerator in OPD mode it uses the resistance of the motors to slow down the vehicle and recharge the batteries. My brakes still look new...
You are forgetting to include the build number. In the betas you can have multiple builds with the same version number, but only one public build with that version number. The current beta release is "5.22.0" but also includes a build number after it.
Also Ford can use feature flags per user...
Isn't this the same problem? The tailgate release button is right next to the frunk button and would let them into the bed, although I think there might be a way to disable the power tailgate in the menu. Never tried.
I just bought a new car with Android Automotive. Sadly, it makes the system in our Lightnings feel 10 years dated.
The biggest benefit I've seen (besides the built-in dashcam) is how snappy it is. Sync 4A feels like a sloth now.
You can do FDRS if you always want to be on the bleeding edge but obviously has costs and time implications.
What I would do is tell the dealer that Carplay isn't working as expected and tell them to reference TSB 25-2048. This directs them to update a TON of modules and would get you the...
