I'm in the same boat, so if anyone figures out how to force the update to install, let me know.
I monitor my 12v SOC pretty regularly, and it usually stays pretty close to 100% (I drive every day) - lowest I've seen it is 88% and that was a while ago.
Depending on where he's at and what he does, that's not unheard of. I did more than that for a little over 3 years - 93 miles one way, 4 days a week on average. I made them get me a rental though when I was doing that - no way I was putting that kind of wear and tear on my personal vehicle.
Definitely not something that I'd use regularly, but getting setup so that I could, when/if needed throw a generator in the bed of the truck and get additional range while driving, there's definitely value there.
You came out ahead here either way.
If the quote was for $3k and they paid $2250, then you were out of pocket $750 - out of that, you got a 10/150k ESP. Thats a screaming deal!
If you had purchased that 10/150k plan before your warranty expired, it would have cost you several thousand dollars.
You're not going to hurt anything on the truck by overloading a few hundred pounds.
Your braking will be the biggest thing - longer stopping distances. Handling will also be sketchy if you take a corner too fast though probably not too bad since that stuff is pretty dense and shouldn't be a...
Worked out great - happy so far!

^^^ This!
I checked it, and the shop that mounted them didnt mention anything, so I'm not worried too much about it. If the width was going to be a problem, the shop would have refused to install them, or at least mentioned it and probably made me sign a waiver as a "CYA" move.
Ford doesnt list them as "compatible" due to weight ratings - they are not rated for the max load that the lightning is capable of. I dont plan to ever load or tow at the max's so I'm not worried about it.
I know it has some additional poke - I dont remember how much exactly, but it isnt...
I guess reading comprehension is hard.
No blind squirrel here.
The post I was replying to specifically asked if you needed to download the tesla app to charge - my answer is correct - you do not need the tesla app to charge. I never said that I didn't use the tesla app to find a charger.
Nope - dont need the app.
I just used my new adapter from Ford for the first time a week or so ago, and it was dead simple - plug and charge. It does take 30 seconds or so to communicate and initiate the charge session, and 30 seconds feels like an eternity when you're standing there...
First, no reservations at all. I'd do it again (and probably sooner) if I had the chance. The truck looks amazing. The only other aesthetic thing I'd like to do to the truck is to black out the light bar - I don't mind the way the light looks at night, but I hate the white on all the other...
Hmmmm - I honestly dont know.
It definitely rides different now, BUT, I have no idea how much of that is the struts and how much is a heavier wheel/tire combo, and a lot more rubber on the sidewall. It drives (and looks) much more like a truck now than it did, which was what I was after.
