That coin slot is where the OEM trailer brake controller goes. There isn't a wiring harness back there with power for the controller?

I also have this cord, 40ft, in Canada, bought from Amazon. At 32 amps it's just slightly warm to the touch after a few hours. The cord is much thicker than the one on the Ford mobile charger (which gets warmer at 32A!). I'm pleased so far!

I'm just going by memory, but I think they come on if you turn your lights to Parking Lights while driving. I've done this when driving around an RV park at night, to not flash into people's units.
