  1. Next After Lightning - Toyota Highlander BEV?

MIL loves her BZ and so many buyers out there want a Toyota because of the reputation (whether it's still earned or not). Doing an EV on the popular Highlander platform makes pretty good sense.
  2. Direct to Consumer debates

America is not a country, it is a corporation. We exist to serve corporate interests. Laws to protect us exist when protecting us advances corporate interests... like how we are being "protected" from Chinese EVs.
  3. Blue Oval Says Next Gen Ford F-150 Lightning Customers Will Be Long Distance Drivers

I want the Slate to do well because it offers something that does NOT exist in the EV market: Privacy, App-less, right to repair. They are missing this in their marketing - needs to be the up front core tenet in their messaging.
  4. Something about this really stinks...

Will Prowse made a good video talking about how far ahead China is. He made the comment that China develops, tests, sorts out manufacturing and THEN makes announcements once the product is ready, while the rest of the world is busy making announcements with nothing to show for it and most of...
  5. It's TINY! Ford's new $30k EV truck spotted (in camo) next to an Expedition for scale

This. A large number of open deck and enclosed trailers have 3500# axles - so 7k lb limit. 7500lb towing capacity is indeed a sweet spot. I can also confirm that while my 2019 Ranger had plenty of power to tow my 8.5x20’ 7500lb enclosed trailer - it sucked at towing, not because of power...
  6. Farley Interview.......

I am not enthusiastic about Fords push to make vehicles only serviceable by dealership. Don’t John Deere my Ford. But shareholders need those dividend and dealers won’t sell vehicles that don’t need service.
  7. Chinese sourced EV's have a steep depreciation issue!

I say let them in… but without modems. Software updates done through USB. If they want to sell them here fine, just make data capture and transmission not a thing. Done.
  8. frunk opened by itself

I would not be upset if my Frunk randomly opened with an audible “get in my belly!”
  9. Should I be Worried ? SOH 79%

May change after cell balancing. To cell balance, charge to 100%.
  10. Something about this really stinks...

The only thing that really discourages me, is how many people this had fooled.
  11. Something about this really stinks...

The gains with Nascent/sodium give me hope. Cold weather range and charging will help accelerate (pun intended) adoption.
  12. WSJ Article

BYD should do a mass marketing blitz in America with messaging showing a long range, fast charging EV for a low price and say things like “this is what the CEOs of Ford and GM are afraid of?! How UnAmerican.” Or “this is what your elected politicians don’t want YOU to have, write them letters...
  13. WSJ Article

The account/app based charging SUCKS. It feels like less freedom, not more. The exception to this is being able to charge at home especially with self generated electrons. It’s bad enough that cash will never be used at DCFCs (I know lots of people who still fill their cars and pay with...
  14. Ford CEO Jim Farley Agrees With Fox News Host That Canada 'Sold Their Soul'

I am not just referencing that regulation and my disgust for it is bi-partisan. I was referencing the Reddit video - all the patents Ford is filing.
  15. Ford CEO Jim Farley Agrees With Fox News Host That Canada 'Sold Their Soul'

Well then, I suppose the trend of “we will own nothing and we will like it” shall continue. But for me, the Lightning is my last Ford. The football is irreversibly fumbled.
