I was not able to help him get it resolved, but I did find a setting in the APIM that has something to do with this. In his case, it was already enabled...
If you update with FDRS, it is still possible that you can an OTA for a module you already updated. In that case, the OTA will fail because the software is already installed.
Glad you brought that up. I think it may be help to point the nose of the truck towards Dearborn, MI.
Updating with FDRS has zero negative effect on being able to get future OTA's.
We used to be able to help people do this easily, but thanks to Ford's awesome new cybersecurity system, all you can do is pray to the OTA gods and hope they shine their light upon thee.
Or beg the dealer to do it and hope they do.
Attached are the instructions from the workshop manual to fist remove the radiator grill and then the headlamp. I don't think swapping out the headlamp alone requires programming; only the modules, but not 100% sure.
Living in urban Miami, I rarely get to see glare-free in action, so if you do live and drive in an urban area with lots of street lighting, the same will apply to you.
Does glare free work on 2023 Lightnings? I know on the ICE trucks, it only works on 2021-2022 model years after a certain IPMA...
Hard to say without being able to plug into the truck and run pin-point tests. Some things are obvious and can be diagnosed remotely, but I don't feel comfortable saying for sure it the headlight based on those codes. Maybe @Jesse-Infotainment can chime in and give his opinion.
