I took it to the dealer and it took Ford about a week to come back with this response to the Advisor:
“Advisor, The close-up images confirm that normal gaps are present within the panels of the floor of the bed. The gaps are considered a design intent, and no repair attempts should be made. We...
Has anyone else with a 2025 Lightning noticed an uneven or excessive gap in front of the rear tire, toward the cab — basically at the front edge of the rear wheel well / lower bedside seam?
I just had mine looked at and was told the gap is “design intent,” but on my truck it does not look...
This is my first Ford vehicle, and honestly this whole experience has been incredibly frustrating and disheartening.
Seeing more and more owners in this thread with the exact same rear tail lamp crack/moisture issue makes it even harder to accept Ford’s position that this is just...
I wonder what @Ford Motor Company has to say about this? Especially since all the cracks are identical but their warranty department is denying that it is a factory defect.
I think this needs to be documented as a potential safety issue, not just a warranty dispute. My concern is that once the rear lamp housing is cracked and moisture gets inside, it can affect rear lighting visibility, lamp integrity, and overall safe operation.
If you file one, keep it simple...
I too am having the same issue in the same spot. Ford also denied my claim quoting “possible impact” and another dealer quoting a GSB “26-7012”. Went all the way through a BBB claim which was denied because of the GSB. Definitely a safety issue and will look into filing a NHTSA as well.
