  1. Charging home battery backup system using F150 lightning

You should be able to use the EG4 Chargeverter as long as your batteries are 48V. You would need a way to parallel the chargeverter on to the 48V DC bus.
  2. Anyone use the Sol-Ark 15K with bed 30-amp outlet?

The EG4 chargeverter would be what you want to use.
  3. Price per KW to charge at home🏠

In Houston within ERCOT territory, I pay $0.0 at nights, so all my charging is free. During the day I run off of home battery + a small solar system. Basically I only pay for a few loads like the oven/stove and dryer which are not on the battery backup system when I use those during the day...
  4. Curious why some do not use 1 pedal driving.

Unfortunately you will have to bash them forever because it is not going to change. There was actually an OTA that fixed this, and then they were forced to reverse it via an actual (I believe NHTSA) recall. https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/recall-23c38-update-sync-software.17490/
  5. Curious why some do not use 1 pedal driving.

After 62k miles I fully believe that 2P is "in practice" more efficient than 1P. Both modes are equally capable, but the precise driving that would be required in 1P, especially at highway speeds, make it harder to achieve max efficiency. Now I live in Houston, and certainly bumper to bumper...
  6. Not a single "not true", except from Brian, not AI...

The lightning was heavily advertised for a long time. By itself for a while and then as a pick your drivetrain option.
  7. Not a single "not true", except from Brian, not AI...

It is sad that one of the best vehicles ever produced is in this state of flux. I blame it 100% on the dealer network and their furious pushback of not only the Lightning, but EV in general. Unfortunately dealers make 50% or more of their gross margin on service, and they know that EV's will be...
  8. Storing Lower-Cost Energy in Your Lightning to Power Your Home and Returning Power Back to the Grid

This thread is not about emergency backup power or how to do that best. It is about buying and selling based on Time of use rates to derive an income by using your EV battery. The Ford HIS and Sigenergy systems are capable of this (as well as providing emergency power) and are fair to compare...
  9. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

The Delta Ex_BDI is the Ford inverter. There is no limitation in the HIS. Sunrun is just giving you the wrong info.
  10. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

That statement is just plain false. I have the system and it works just fine. I would challenge them on this. This image is straight out of the inverter manual:
  11. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

They are not correct. The Ford/Sunrun system is a Delta inverter capable of connecting to the truck, an LG battery (2 actually) and has MPPT for direct solar input. In addition is can also tie to existing AC coupled solar. The LG RESU Prime 16H is fully compatible with the inverter they are...
  12. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

The compatible battery cost under $3k. You can ask Sunrun if the would install this at the same time and how much they would charge to do so. most of the labor is already covered since it goes into the same inverter.
  13. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

Keep in mind you are choosing between some solar credits and over $10k of free equipment. Instead of solar credits, you should be able to do self consumption, and basically save the same amount of money as well.
  14. New home backup option?

If it works with a Tesla, it should work with the same vehicles that work with the others (like Lightnings). They just are establishing a CCS DC charging session. They are just marketing to Tesla because of all the existing vehicles that didn't have this function.
  15. FCSP RS485 port access Success!

The sheer irony of that statement is thicker than wet cement. I would challenge Ford to show that they can even perform (much less enforce the delivery of) a power up within 30 days to customers. I have considered buying an EV just as stationary storage once I can get one for under $10k (we...
