I made a series of errors:
Mistake 1: I put my kayak bed extender in the truck bed, and forgot to take it out, before going to work.
Mistake 2: When I got to work and opened the bed to start loading subs, I saw I had something in the bed, and I rested it up against the tailgate instead of...
Never good when your vehicle is in the shop and it is a huge bummer it is at the beginning of your ownership but alteast 2-3 weeks is not too bad.
I had to wait 6+ months last year for 3x $2 bolts for my previous diesel truck...
You really came to the right place for us to talk you off the ledge... ;)

I have a Pro SR, and so far it has been great; it is probably not the ideal road trip vehicle and it certainty is not greatest for long distance towing, but I don't road trip a whole lot and I don't tow anymore. I...
Thus far I have only hit -28C with my Lightning this year, but the winter was unusually mild here. So I haven't hit -40C like previous vehicles.
If the battery was prewarmed I was hit hitting 1.3-1.6M/KWH when it cold soaked I was between .8-1.1M/KWH.
Preconditiong that battery is a must.

Also, for anyone doing your own electrical.
Since this is constant voltage your wire needs be 125% the load, the load needs to be 80% or less of your breaker capacity. I can charge the truck off of the 2-2-2-4 but thinking I could potentially do two chargers was quite over zealous for my...
My last truck, which had a baby diesel engine, would start in -40; that was not with the engine block heater plugged in either! Granted I used a decent amount of additive in the winter to keep thing moving; at that temp though it could take the cab over an hour to heat.
So far I have only hit...
I will probably start going to 90-95% for these colder days.
I am using the departure time and warming at home before work. At work though I am parked outside, and that can be 8-14 hours depending on the day, it is the after work where I am burning through the range.
Yesterday I was at work for 12 hours, and the temp was just slightly below 0F. Even driving quite conservatively I certainly burned through the state of charge on the way home. I am curious once things get down to -40F here.
I have a 52 mile round trip commute, about 32 miles of it is highway...
It took me a few hours, but I am now as smooth with the 1-pedal as using two. The trickiest part for me to learn was canceling the cruise control.
That being said if it is extremely icy out I tend to use the two-pedal mode.
I live in Minnesota with a SR, so far, in the week I have owned it about 240km's would be the farthest I could make it. Things have been unseasonably warm right now and it has been around 0C, but winter can get to -40C here and I am sure that will drop more. Your salesman may be correct...

Fully agree. In 10-15 years I am sure things will be better, doesn't mean this isn't a great vehicle for now. It will still be cheap to drive then as well.
I am not planning on selling this vehicle, I am planning on driving it into the ground, so resale value does not concern me too...
I went with the SR:
1. At first I wanted extended range, but then I realized that in the last year I have only taken a single trip that would warrant charging, in a place I am already stopping for two hours anyways.
2. Cost: My state has a $2,500 rebate that goes away at $55K MSRP, An extra 70...
They weren't haha
The dealership I bought from was offering MSRP. I got $1,000 off with Ford financing, and haggled them down the other $5,500.
I had a small bidding war going on via email with many dealerships across the MIdwest. ;)
