  1. Class Action Lawsuit - Home Integration System

FYI, at this point SigEnergy does not guarantee V2X function will work or continue to work with any existing EV's (). It's because they are leveraging a "bug" in the DC fast charging control implementation in some EV's to enable V2X. It appears some EV makers have now fixed the "bug" via OTA...
  2. Class Action Lawsuit - Home Integration System

I understand the sentiment but if they couldn't make it work profitably in a higher margin product category (i.e. vehicles) then moving to a lower margin product category (i.e. battery) doesn't look like a profit maker. It looks more like a desperate move to reduce (but not stop) the losses so...
  3. Class Action Lawsuit - Home Integration System

Very different. Tesla actually develops its own energy products and has a decade plus experience working with various local AHJ's that control and approve residential energy product installations. Tesla didn't start from scratch either. It also acquired Solar City early on to help it get...
  4. Class Action Lawsuit - Home Integration System

    That's a bad joke
  5. Class Action Lawsuit - Home Integration System

That's probably a good move ... apparently Ford is killing off the existing F150 Lightning product line in a $19B write off on the EV business ... no wonder they've done next to nothing to fix the HIS ... it's not even a round off error in the bigger picture
  6. Class Action Lawsuit - Home Integration System

It appears Ford has lots of unhappy customers for many issues ... it helps explain why fixing the HIS seems like a low priority item ... has anyone tried to take advantage of this customer retention program for HIS problems...
  7. Class Action Lawsuit - Home Integration System

Did Ford cut engineering (versus manufacturing) resources for the F150 Lightning?
  8. I need someone to help me respond to this if possible.

Nice try but that's not code compliant. The code has specific requirements for the GEC including minimum size (e.g. 6 AWG for typical bare copper wire) and connection method (e.g. welded, bolted, etc.) and plug is an allowed method. Also, for SDS, the GEC must be connected at the same point as...
  9. FranklinWH aPower V2L and Pro Power Success!

There are several incorrect and confusing statements in the above and I have no interest in addressing them all. As an example, I will just point out that you are misstating what NEC 250.34(B) allows. It only allows a vehicle mounted generator to be ungrounded if it only supplies loads on the...
  10. FranklinWH aPower V2L and Pro Power Success!

I agree and my position has always been that code compliance does not necessarily mean safe and vice versa. However, I do want to call out misleading/wrong info especially from companies that can make people think something is code compliant when it's not.
  11. FranklinWH aPower V2L and Pro Power Success!

What they told you is misleading and wrong. There is no exception in code for generators that connect to house wiring to be ungrounded. It doesn't matter if the generator is a SDS or not. It also doesn't matter if the generator has GFCI or not. Given the number of code sections they...
  12. I need someone to help me respond to this if possible.

Sure but based on what you have shown for your system you also don't have a code compliant installation. Separately derived systems need to have a proper grounding system including a properly sized GEC. This is clearly stated in the owner's manual for the Generac 6852 transfer switch...
  13. Sigenergy (PointGuard) bi-directional system

Call it an "unintended feature" then. Apparently GM has updated Silverado EV firmware to fix the bug/untended feature so PG V2X no longer works.
  14. Sigenergy (PointGuard) bi-directional system

Basically that is what the V2X converters do on EV's that only support the standard CCS protocol.
  15. Sigenergy (PointGuard) bi-directional system

Basically, the standard CCS protocol for DC fast charging is being used for discharging because Tesla has a "bug" and not shutting down the charging session when power is actually being discharged (i.e. reverse/negative power flow). It's something that Tesla could easily fix with OTA updates...
