  1. 023 Lightning (Build 08/23) – No Heat / No Defrost Heat – Dealer says “failed heater assembly” (any insight?)

The same thing happened to my 23 lariat er. Mine occurred at the start of an extended cold spell in Montana. It was the PTC heater and my battery was getting cold also, which resulted in all kinds of codes discovered at the dealer. I seem to remember the service folks saying it would have cost...
  2. No cabin heat Fixed post #34

The heat went out in my truck in January in Montana ? Mine turned out to be the heater unit itself. It took a while to get an appointment, but it only took the dealer about a week to diagnose and replace it. I hope you can get this resolved soon, but just be glad this happened in April and not...
  3. OTA Software Update 10.3.0 - Powertrain, Battery, Parking Brake

Which makes preconditioning for tesla chargers impossible* at this point, correct? *challenging; requiring routing to another dcfc via the native navigation while using your phone to navigate to the tesla charger. That's the only way I'm aware of, at this point.
  4. Cold Weather Skiing Day Trip in Montana

Hi Everyone, I thought my experience might be useful to others on here, so I will share some info from a day trip I did to Showdown Ski Area this weekend. I left my home in Livingston, MT early Saturday morning with 100% SOC. The weather was quite cold, single digits, and there was a bit of...
  5. 2023 ER Lariat Heater Went Out Just as Winter Hit

Hey everyone, final update here: I brought the truck into my dealer last Monday. The intake tech was not very friendly, telling me that there were also all sorts of battery codes and that it would be a very long time until I saw my truck again. I then got a call from another tech saying that...
  6. 2023 ER Lariat Heater Went Out Just as Winter Hit

Thanks for that info. I have an appointment in a week to pick up a loaner and drop off the truck. As I mentioned in the beginning, they wouldn't commit to when they'd even first take a look at it. How long did it take them to fix yours? I've tried everything that the kind folks on this thread...
  7. Electric Winter Camping Trips in Montana. Used Rivian Charging Station

Plug in then tap card. They just started the process of opening up their network. This station came online a few weeks ago and has been open to all from the start.
  8. 2023 ER Lariat Heater Went Out Just as Winter Hit

No battery modules replaced. This is the first real problem I've had with the truck.
  9. Electric Winter Camping Trips in Montana. Used Rivian Charging Station

This one is significantly faster than the sinclair. Time will tell whether it's as reliable. Great to have some redundancy down there now.
  10. Electric Winter Camping Trips in Montana. Used Rivian Charging Station

They opened up to the public recently. I'm not sure if they are all open to us--this one just came online and was open to everyone from the start. It's a good interface that doesn't require an app. Plug in then pay with a tap card/phone wallet. The charge speeds were just ok, but that might have...
  11. Electric Winter Camping Trips in Montana. Used Rivian Charging Station

I've been scheming a camping setup for winter that doesn't kill range but can keep me warm. I ended up getting a flated inflatable topper that I can store easily with somewhat limited space. To that, I've added a good truck bed mattress and a tiny 200 watt electric heater. There's a place I like...
  12. 2023 ER Lariat Heater Went Out Just as Winter Hit

Update for those who have been following along: I checked the coolant and you were all right, it was very low; below the min mark. I refilled it to a little below the max line and tried the heat--that didn't work. Next, I disconnected the 12v for 10 minutes then tried again--still no heat. Looks...
  13. 2023 ER Lariat Heater Went Out Just as Winter Hit

Thanks Thanks. I will update you all with any progress.
  14. 2023 ER Lariat Heater Went Out Just as Winter Hit

I have one that I’ve been using for winter camping in the bed. It is going to be a fixture in the cabin until this is fixed. It only pulls 180 watts so it’s orders of magnitude more efficient than the oem system.
