I should add that my truck did show there was signal during the outage both for cellular and then on WiFi. Despite that, it was definitely not talking until the connected services cycle.
Just as a quick aside, my truck stopped updating Wednesday night as well. I got the FordPass team on the phone, and basically what resolved it was disabling connected services, waiting for a couple minutes and then enabling it. Ford did say they saw a modem error reporting on their back end and...
You may have a bad cabin heater assembly or diverter valve either which can cause problems with heating and cooling the battery as well. Be absolutely sure to mention that the heat is not working, even if it’s warm when you finally bring it in. Also beware that it could start refusing to charge...
Make sure they check for heater/cooling system faults. A lot of the failed module cases also have low coolant and/or a faulty diverter valve or bad heater (and coolant pump) assembly.
If you think about the concept of people who have had multiple modules fail, you would think Ford would have a 6 Sigma team all over data collection trying to get to root cause on these failures. The numbers of just casually voluntarily reported failures to a Google sheet on a forum, which is...
Have you looked at how many of the failed modules are related to battery cooling system failures? Anecdotally I have seen several cases where either a diverter valve or a heater assembly (like my case) was correlated with bad modules. Presumably the cooling system is necessary, especially while...
Mine had that set of codes and there was a bad heater assembly, which apparently is also responsible for circulating coolant for the battery pack. 2 failed modules before the dealer finally decided to run the heater assembly diagnostics. Did the bad pump cause the module failures? Hard to say -...
Just got my Lightning back from having the (second) recently replaced module rebalanced. The dealer that replaced it couldn’t be bothered, so the new place had to tear the pack down again and hook it to the XMB. They had to drill out and re-tap 2 HVB cover bolts that the first dealer apparently...
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good service department in Atlanta? So far I have eliminated Mall of Georgia Ford and Gwinnett Place Ford due to poor experiences at both of them. They both genuinely seem to despise EVs in the service department.
I made an appointment at Mall of Georgia...
I’m not concerned from a financial perspective, but I am concerned from a reliability perspective.
This is the second module replaced on my truck in under 11K miles. This time the fault happened when I went to top up my battery to 100% 2 hours before a road trip. If it had failed one charge...
I have the exact same issue - also recently had a module replaced. In my case I am set to charge to 90, the FordPass app says 100 after charging, but the truck shows 87 when I power it on.
I have the exact same issue since I had a module replaced last week. Since there is a pack balancing procedure for a reason, are there any potential issues down the road with not having done the proper balancing procedure?
Welp. I bought one from someone on eBay because I need it next weekend. I called Ford and the EV team says they do not have access to a range of bad serial numbers. I told them about my case, and the nice person stated that since there is no way for them to tell from the serial number, they...
