  1. Asking from personal experience towing a 3000lbs teardrop camper.

There are some threads on that trailer if you use the search. https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/search/3707793/?q=nucamp&o=date
  2. Asking from personal experience towing a 3000lbs teardrop camper.

...the country. My existing trailer camper weighs around 4500lbs. The best I can do is 1.1 to 1.2 mpkw at 60mph, 70deg weather and relatively flat terrain. The teardrop I am interested in is T@b 400 from NuCamp. I would appreciate any comments, inputs and suggestions from your personal...
  3. Crazy Surging

Sounds good but I tried the Andersen website and there were several pages that were 404. Did they get sued? Also, there were several positive reviews on YT, but they were not for 5T trailers, and many said they wouldn't trust it. Has anyone seen one on my size trailer?
  4. Crazy Surging

Thx. How heavy is your trailer?
  5. Crazy Surging

I towed a NuCamp Avia travel trailer from Louisville to Kansas City with a properly adjusted Anderson WDH and it was super smooth even over the crappy Indiana interstates. I'm guessing your hitch needs proper adjustment or your trailer brakes have an issue.
  6. Anyone towing a Nucamp Tab 400 Boondock trailer?

Do you have any efficiency data on pulling the Avia and what is your overall experience with it?
  7. Coming from a Model Y, talk me in/out of a Lightning

It can be done. I towed a teardrop trailer (Tab 400) from East Jersey to Kansas City with my Lariat ER. AND a Nucamp Avia from Louisville to KC. Neither trip was fast or fun but I never came close to running out of juice.
  8. Truck Campers vs Trailers what impacts range more?

Don't have a truck camper, but I have a NuCamp Tab 320S. NuCamp's classic teardrop. Smaller than the 400, but bigger than the Tag. I averaged 1.4 mi/kWHr, but could get higher or lower depending on weather and elevation change. Also important to note, I have extensive Towing experience...
  9. Thought on our frigid 1,300 mile trip

...I-94 route this trip because of the Superchargers. All the Superchargers on I-90 in SD and WY are V2 (UPDATE: looks like Gillette, WY has a V3 SC now). I pulled a NuCamp AVIA RV (28' - 6k lbs) from Louisville to KC last summer. I'm guessing this trip across ND will be a cakewalk in...
  10. Selling because I drive too much.

Thanks! I pulled the A-Frame with my Lightning about 6,000 miles before having a structural issue, so I traded it out in Oregon for the Nucamp T@B 400. I’ve posted my towing thoughts in a couple other threads. The camper was a T21TBHW, which sits 68” tall when folded down. I averaged 1.4...
  11. DATA THREAD: Post your tow and efficiency!

Thanks, just updated the spreadsheet! I traded my Flagstaff A-frame camper for a Nucamp T@b 400 last month, but I had a tailwind for the entire trip home. I’ll update next spring when I have some clean numbers, but it’s looking like 1.1-1.2 at 60 MPH. Not as good as I hoped. I arrived in...
  12. DATA THREAD: Post your tow and efficiency!

Nice teardrop. I love these small trailers.
  13. DATA THREAD: Post your tow and efficiency!

...I’ll be adding another next week. I reached the turnaround point 2,000 miles from home and saw clear signs my camper wasn’t up for these kind of miles. I traded for a Nucamp T@B 400 in western Oregon, so I’ve got lots of miles in front of me. I’m hoping for 1.3, but that’s looking doubtful.
  14. Lightning towing teardrop trailer cross-country trip report series! [PITTSBURGH ➡️ SEATTLE]

I towed a NuCamp TAB 400 from Denville, NJ to Kansas City and averaged around 1.3 mi/kWh. It's an 18' long 3,000lb trailer and a fair amount taller than the 320. That was at 55mph. Crazy thing is we decided to get a NuCamp AVIA and sell the TAB. Pretty much got the same mi/kWh pulling the...
  15. Lightning towing teardrop trailer cross-country trip report series! [PITTSBURGH ➡️ SEATTLE]

My camper is a 2023 NuCamp Tab 320S with a tongue weight of around 326 pounds, a length of 15.5 feet and a total weight of about 2350 pounds. So far she tows like a dream and while towing my range from 90% is around 135 miles. Feel free to comment! thanks for update! just back from 2nd...
  16. Lightning towing teardrop trailer cross-country trip report series! [PITTSBURGH ➡️ SEATTLE]

In your video it appears you are driving on the PA Turnpike just past the Harmarville exit.
  17. Lightning towing teardrop trailer cross-country trip report series! [PITTSBURGH ➡️ SEATTLE]

Yeah that Tag is much better profile wise. Unfortunately, I just can't live without a bathroom ?
  18. Lightning towing teardrop trailer cross-country trip report series! [PITTSBURGH ➡️ SEATTLE]

I have a NuCamp T@G, which is considerably shorter and smaller than your T@B. I get around 1.6 mi/kwh at 65 mph. I think the biggest gain is that my trailer is shorter than the truck cab, so it sits inside the slipstream. With that, I can push 200 mi on a full battery.
  19. Lightning towing teardrop trailer cross-country trip report series! [PITTSBURGH ➡️ SEATTLE]

...decent delay between current travels and uploads as editing takes time. I will keep posting as I add additional videos! My camper is a 2023 NuCamp Tab 320S with a tongue weight of around 326 pounds, a length of 15.5 feet and a total weight of about 2350 pounds. So far she tows like a dream...
  20. Anyone towing a Nucamp Tab 400 Boondock trailer?

An update our my towing experience. Had a chance to buy one of the rare NuCamp AVIA travel trailers at a very attractive price so the TAB 400 will be sold. I towed the AVIA back from Louisville to Kansas City and the efficiency didn't seem any different than towing the TAB 400. The AVI is 28'...
