This happened to me, too. I will try to remember what I did to get it to work. I know I had to get the right rear seat area of the truck within about 4’ of the charger, then open the right rear door and fold that seat down (the truck’s Bluetooth is there). I also reset the truck modem a few times.
...the PIN screen in the truck, but no PIN comes up on the app. BEV sees the charger, and it is updated. I would NEVER have dropped the coin in to this HIS had I known it is a brick. Sunrun is no help, I could have installed a great, reliable Generac for less. I would have no issue joining a...
Update: The lock button trick worked on the third try! I am at 10.1.1 also. Fingers crossed that it keeps working. I fully empathise with everybody for whom it isn’t working.
BTW I went with a non-SunRun master electrician for the installation.
I will have owned my 2023 Platinum Lightning two years on February 6th 2025 and I spent $11k on my HIS system and it will not work. I will join your class action Lawsuit.
...in my decision to buy my first EV. I chose not to go ahead with setting up the backup system after I discovered that I had to pay for the SunRun app separately, and at a steep price. The use of the truck as a “generator” was repeatedly impressed upon me, where the separate gouge by SunRun was...
Thank you Runaway Tractor. I have to agree with you 100%. Right now Ford/Sunrun is offering a system with absolutely no support to the customer that had purchased one of these. If you call for support, your ticket is closed directly after your phone call even though your problem is not resolved...
...Power works with all F-150 Lightnings, but requires the Ford Charge Station Pro home charger and the Home Integration System available through Sunrun. When those are installed together in your home, any F-150 Lightning can provide your home backup...
Did not mean to cause confusion. I only installed the Ford Charge Station Pro as a means to charge my Lightning and now also my EX90. I am not doing any back up to the home.
...up the $1400 for the unit since that was a prime understanding for the deal.. And the captive contractor that provides the installation (Sunrun) doesn't provide it in my state. Oh, and where is my Tesla charging adapter promised in October. Currently, I'm looking into the GMC EV trucks...
I'm in the process of getting quotes for ground-mount solar (rooftop isn't an option unless I want to cut a lot of trees) with 20kwh of battery backup.... I could buy another truck for the lowest quote and still have $20k to pay for electricity. Really want the solar, but yowsers!
...that is reliable and affordable. Considering the horror stories for installation, outrageous installation prices, plus forced contracting with SunRun is a poison pill too far for me. I will either wait for Emporia's solution that promises to be less than 1/2 the cost of the Ford backup...
I think a lot of people would like to have the home back up! I think the main problem is the cost of the system not to mention the problems people have had getting it to work and keeping it working. I think in the future, you will want the 80 amp and I would imagine they will design one with the...
The FSCP is a dinosaur now. Few if any want Home Backup and even if they do, Ford/Sunrun can't make it work in many cases. The '24+ MYs dropped the 2nd onboard charger, so it can only charge at 48A...so there is no point in an 80A charger, especially with a full CSS plug.
I was testing my HIS for the upcoming ice/snow storm coming to Kentucky tomorrow and discovered that my previously functioning back up power system is no longer working. I tested it back in March of 2024 and I think even once during last summer when the power was out for a few hours...
Yes when I read that I wondered what they meant since they have that SUNRUN Home Integration System thing...maybe they mean if you use the battery like a power wall somehow taken out of the truck? Who knows.
The HIS seems to get 240V 40A through it's DELTA inverter, whereas the Pro Power is...
They are ALWAYS sending OTA updates to fix the HIS problem. I got the same excuse May-July 2023 (stopped calling to ask) and in Aug 2024, then Oct 2024. Now here we are in Jan 2025.
Only problem is, half of us aren't receiving OTA updates, and dealerships won't do them unless you pay hourly...
