It was intended to be a pipe dream. Realistic my way be 150kwh, 800V, pull through charging and maybe copious charging options (may take a while). Honestly the Silverado EV checks most of those boxes, though payload may be a problem.
Looks nice
Looks good. If you put solar on top, the panels will not like the sap. One of the local solar installers around here sells solar canopies/car ports.
Pull through charging. 800+V architecture for battery systems. 350+kW charging. 300kWh+ batteries. 2000pounds payload. Charging stations at every exit that always work. = Tow what you want. Tow for 300+ miles. Recharge in 30 minutes or less (actually with a 300kwh battery charging would need to...
The Volt was actually pretty good. Gen 1 was rated at 39 miles EV, then a little over 40mpg. 40mpg is not great compared to a Prius, but we didn't need to use the ice often. At highway speed it would actually link the engine to the wheels for a little bit more efficient travel. The big gripe...
Two car garage with three cars.... Which one stays outside? The one that does not need charging? Definitely not the one my wife is driving. The only time her car has been outside for an extended period was when my garage bay was being used to construct new countertops and her garage bay had the...
But if the secondary latch fails to keep the frunk closed whatever is in there will be skidding across the pavement immediately after brake activation due to the driver not being able to see out. In the OPs situation the secondary latch failed. A pull handle fixes this.
91 civic LX sedan 5spd manual 4 door. White with rust (Vermont car...) around the rear wheels and rear corners of the rocker panels. My next car was a 94 4 door Acura Integra 5 speed. (My post high school and college cars undergrad and pharmacy school). Mitsubishi eclipse 5 speed for 6 months...
Do any cars have a hood release that is a little push button? Every car/truck that I have been in had a pull handle. There is a reason for this... (Oops, my leg/knee bumped the button and now my hood has to be peeled off my windshield). I think my first car had a frozen secondary latch and the...
Ford, please make a cover for this or make it a pull release...like a hood release so that it does not open while driving or at minimum make sure the secondary latch works EVERY TIME. I understand the need to allow escape from the confined space, but if someone happens to be trapped, blinding...
It is supposed to release the primary latch and give you a warning. Secondary latch should hold until stopped. This appears to be a secondary latch failure. All solved with a clear plastic safety cover on the release button.
I think that the PTO (permission to operate) is in reference to a solar installation. You should not need any utility permission to run the backup system that only runs your home while disconnecting itself for the grid. We just had a solar installation and our PTO came from the utility when they...
This!
Tesla supercharging started as a service, not a revenue generator. It was necessary to sell the cars and get widespread adoption. There is potential for $$ on charging, but all ice cars need gas on a regular basis. Many EVs will charge away from home very infrequently. The more charging...
I used to be a gas and go traveler. My wife would go along with that 12+ years ago. It all changed with kids and gone were the days of 750 miles with 27 minutes of stoppage time. Now we stop to eat. Stop for extended bathroom/entertainment breaks. So it takes one and a half days instead of one...
It would be a problem for me to have charging in the front. Front would be good on smaller vehicles, but many garages are very tight with something this large. Making aong vehicle longer is problematic in constrained or possibly constrained spaces. I also have storage above the front of the...
I can see a dealer not allowing a random stranger (or your best friend) to be added to the reservation/order, but a family member does not seem like a stretch. What if someone got married and has a new name since reserving?
Tax credit eligibility is 7.5k for the quarter of and subsequent quarter in which they reach the 200k limit. They did not get there in q2, so q3 and q4 are full credit.
