  1. Greetings from the heart of Europe... Czech Republic

Agree, Insurance companies run the industry. For those on the name, Led Tasso was the alter ego of Ted Lasso, so with the Rivian and quad motors, the SUV was insanely fast with 0-60 in 3 seconds, handled well, was a great ride. I prefer my Lightning with the comfort. Had originally ordered...
  2. Greetings from the heart of Europe... Czech Republic

we had an 2023 Rivian R1S that was totaled by the insurance company after being run off the road by an 18-wheeler. After it was auctioned off. One day my Rivian app lit up as having a low battery, so I took a look. Was in Kyiv, Ukraine.
  3. Phone as Key (PAAK) mostly failing after iOS app update

I have this exact issue. I have an iPhone 15 pro, but I have noticed it often. The truck seems to respond to me as it does its click, turns on the lights, but when I pull the door handle, nothing. I close, reopen the app, nothing, then I select the unlock button on the app, it opens. But...
  4. First Software Update since I have owned the truck.

I am sitting with a 2022 Platinum. Last update August, 2024. Dealer said there were no updates available back in June just before my warranty ran out. I was not aware they were showing last update time. When mine last updated, they were only showing 90 days.
  5. Cruise control speeds up & down frequently due to "Busses Speed Limit" signs

This, mine would pick up side street signs, commercial vehicle, etc. Caused all kinds of issues.
  6. First pickup ever – need advice on hard bed covers for winter + full bed access

Thats is the same one I have. Bak is the generic, not the Ford branded one. All the research I did at the time stated they were the same. I found a better deal at the time on the one I ordered. I was thinking you had the Retrax that has the box in the bed. My buddy that has that one...
  7. First pickup ever – need advice on hard bed covers for winter + full bed access

which roll up do you have? I have a BAK Revolver X4s and I find it to impede less than a fold up my buddy has on his. Mine rolls up on the surface, so likely the difference. I also like that the roll up does not block the rear window.
  8. Fitcamx dash cam review

This...it would suck when you have an issue to find it stopped working.
  9. Normal day to day stuff. Question

I am in complete agreement here. After 3+ years of ownership, the "quirks" need to be worked out. So many little nits get in the way of a great truck.
  10. Normal day to day stuff. Question

Hahahahaha...I had not seen number 7 yet, but yes...I would change 7 or add to 5 " what version of "software" is my truck on?" I add to my dead horse topic that I keep hearing and then I add to is how do I force an update? Me, I am going on 1 year since my last update.
  11. Journey down the Baja…to Cabo

agree. Tesla sells a package for their mobile adapter that has all of the proper "wall" plug types. They also include the J-1722 to NACS adapter with the cars. I keep the Level 1/2 NACS to J-1722 in my truck at all times. Only used 1-2 times in the last 3 years, but it is definitely needed...
  12. Fitcamx dash cam review

Same on mine. I like the look, works fine. I had an issue with connecting to the WiFi from my iPhone, but it is an iPhone issue. What I found on mine is the connector they are using for the plug at the mirror is very poor quality and will bend the pins.
  13. Ford (and most) OEMs have missed the point with Connected Navigation

ok, so I stand corrected on the navigation part, I stopped using built in navigation once Tesla chargers were open and never showed on the map for me. I was looking at the Show chargers on the map and that is now grayed out with no connection. Thanks again. I will update my initial post...
  14. Ford (and most) OEMs have missed the point with Connected Navigation

my point on the adding chargers to a route, it requires the payed Connected Navigation. It does not add them unless you pay more. Rivian, Tesla and I believe Lucid do this with standard, non extra connectivity. With Tesla and Rivian, you get traffic, weather, music services and more for the...
  15. Ford (and most) OEMs have missed the point with Connected Navigation

Ok, so I just hit my 3 year mark yesterday as many other drivers have. I got the notice that my connected navigation trial has expired, and I should renew to keep all of the great things Ford provides, such as Latest maps to give me the best route based on my towing needs, Enhanced Point of...
  16. Frunk loud pops when opening

Mine pops as the latch releases, always has. Slow as all get out, and very finicky on how/when it decides it will open. The frunk has always been a love/hate relationship for me. Mostly I love it. The space, the utility, etc is awesome. The beep, slow open/close, the sudden stop when trying...
  17. 59% power at 70% charge

I had a similar issue early on in my ownership where the truck was limited on power with a near full charge. I was on a short road trip of about 110miles, but got the best mi/kWh of any highway drive. Might be something Ford should add as a feature, similar to Rivian.
  18. Honest answer please: When will Tesla Superchargers be added to Connected Navigation

This unfortunately is the only approach. Speaking from someone who has not had an OTA update since August 2024. My truck had a failed update, nothing since. Been to the dealer multiple times where they have updated modules, but my CarPlay audio is still hit and miss along with a few other...
  19. Confession: Got a little jealous of a Chevy EV...

I think it is a bit more than that with the truck. while not as polarizing as the Cyber Truck, the Silverado EV requires some to get past the aesthetics of the Chevy Avalanche. I also think the market for a $100k truck has gone with inflation across the board. The other is the logistics of...
  20. Confession: Got a little jealous of a Chevy EV...

Having driven both, I decided to keep my Lightning when the Silverado EV I ordered came in. The Silverado feels like it lumbers around, you can feel the heft of the 200kWh battery. I was disappointed in the quality of the Silverado as well. I posted here when I did the drive, but the interior...
