I'm a bit confused about spare tires. Some on here have a regular tire as a spare and but a dealer told me I need a similar EV tire due to the weight.
Can I get by just buying a 20" wheel and same size tire as what is currently on my Lariat? Say, something off an Expedition or an ICE 150?
For those of you who didnāt get a spare, where did you pick one up?
Dealer, local tire shop?
And is it an 18ā or will a 20ā actually fit under there?
I had the Ford Connected 48 amp charge station installed yesterday. Works as it should and, to no surprise, much faster than the included mobile cord.
I did use public charging twice while waiting for the install, mainly just to get the process down. One time at Electrify America and one time at...
It was pretty hot today and I was driving up in the hills for bit. I was going to charge when I got home, but I thought I had read that you shouldn't charge when the battery is hot.
Should the fan kick on at some point? It starts when I start the truck, but it's quiet when I turn it off.
Maybe...
Well, after much consternation I traded my ā17 Ridgeline in for ā25 Lariat.
Thanks to all of you for the advice over the last few months.
Iām looking forward to checking out all the features on this thing.
First things first, though. Iām having issues getting the app set up.
I'm getting close to pulling the trigger, finally, and the sales guy said the station pro is included, with install. Is it a decent evse or is it better to take the $500 and go third party. I had been eyeballing the Grizzl-e until I heard about the Ford unit being included in the purchase.
I'm probably going to be buying a Lariat in October, but I'm torn between used and new.
There are deals on low mile '23's, especially if it's the standard range battery. There is one under 50k with 5k on the clock.
The '24's have the heat pump. Since I'm in Sacramento, does a heat pump matter...
I have a couple of dealers looking for a new '24 or '25 Flash or Lariat. In the process, I ran across a '23 Platinum CPO with 7k miles on the clock and they asking just shy of $62k. It has the 9.6kWh and tow tech pkg.
There are only a couple of things I like on the Lariat vs the Flash. I'm...
Sorry for all the questions, but I'm getting close to pulling the trigger and had read on here about some dealers (nationally) not having a very good rep when dealing with the Lightning, as in the techs aren't really that familiar with it.
I was just wondering if any Sacramento dealer has a...
What are you paying for registration?
I was watching a review on the lightning and the guy said due to the weight of the vehicle, he is paying $1000 to register it. Does that sound right? Seems a tad steep to me, even for California.
Or is that an additional tax to make up for lost gas tax income?
I've been hemming and hawing about buying a Lightning for a while now and was wondering A) how the tariffs will affect Ford, in general and B) cause dealers to markup prices on their current inventory, even though they have been sitting on the lot for a long time?
Or am I just overthinking this...
A lot has been discussed about cold climates and battery life/range. How does the Lightning handle hot summers? I'm in California, in the Sacramento valley and apparently we are trying to become Phoenix North for summer temps. Winter temps are in the 30's, so I'm not too concerned about that...
Iām curious what your thoughts are for when you plan to trade or sell the truck?
Drive it till the wheels fall off?
Trade at 100k miles, when the warranty is done?
Trade in at 90k miles?
Iām just learning about the front end of buying/living with an EV, but I donāt know what folks are doing...
Hi, looking at possibly getting a Lightning. As for the electrical side, I currently have a 220 outlet for my table saw.
In a few days, we will begin remodeling our kitchen, which will include an induction cooktop, which also requires 220. They will be wiring up a new 100 amp sub panel because...
Hi, I'm just dipping my toes the EV pool and have a few questions. I currently have a 2017 Honda Ridgeline with a shell on it. It's been a great little truck. Unfortunately, I find myself needing to carry more stuff, so I'm looking into either the Powerboost with the 6.5 foot bed or the...
