It is technically a single speed gear reduction transmission.. I'm going to be changing the fluid in both motors at 75k personally. I want to inspect the fluid for metal before the warranty is up.
I think its fine to leave it. Mine was all zeros before I made any changes so I think its a previously unused block for our APIMs atleast. I've left my changes in to enable the advanced charge settings even though its not working for 12" SYNC yet.
You may need some FDRS updates. Its fully working on my 2022. My outlets stayed on with the truck off. There is a timeout period though and it'll lock out the green button if pro power and the truck are both off for long enough.
My truck went to the dealer in June for some HV and warranty work...
Mines been setting off Windows Defender with a trojan warning. Had to tell Defender to ignore it to stop forscan from being deleted in the middle of programming.
How high the state of charge is will effect how much power it makes. The motor inverters are typically limited on amperage (among a bunch of other factors) so if you can keep the voltage as high as possible eg. 100% SOC, then you'll get the most kW out of the motors.
This is also why ER trucks...
Yep works on mine. Iāve never done FDRS updates but my truck did take a visit to the dealer in June for contactor issues and warranty items which included an IPMA update. No clue if they updated everything while they had it in there or not.
@bmwhitetx - I set mine to E to see if I could enable...
So I just reached out to Jesse about this last night and successfully enabled this on my 2022. Here's how its done. Insane that this simple modification hasn't been delivered OTA to people who have supported the Lightning program the longest. Use forscan to make these changes in the APIM.
Here's a fun one. @bmwhitetx this should get added to the first post in this thread.
Enabling 2024 Feature - Pro Power Onboard Outlets w/ Truck Off
Both changes in APIM.
They're perfect for the task! This was the first time using this one that I just built so it was a great test. I used a smaller one in the past for a Chevy Volt but wanted to have some head room and build a beefier one for the truck.
There's one or two guys on the facebook group who claim to have done the swap. They said it was fairly straight forward with just some changes needed in forscan. Though they did mention that early 2022 trucks had some incompatibility with 2023 batteries.
I've been keeping my eyes out for a...
Yep, I'm planning on adding a nice 175a anderson connector to a good ground and right to the DCDC converter output so I can just plug in to a really solid connection and avoid the clamps all together.
Well, got mine updated last night and it was an adventure lol. Absolutely need to make sure you keep monitoring your power supply throughout. Mine either lost connection or the truck somehow went into battery saver mode and I almost completely smoked my 12v battery down to 5v. In my picture...
