  1. Pricing Lowered for 2024 Lightning! (Effective April 5, 2024)

@Ford Drop the price on the Pro to $44,995 and sell every one you could produce.
  2. Ford to trim workforce at Lightning plant from 2100 to 700

Too bad @Ford wasnā€™t able to control the 25% price increase on the basic model. I get the economics of building significantly more of the higher trim / higher profit ones to recoup their R&D costs, but really believe that Pros and XLT models would not be languishing on dealers lots like the...
  3. Ford - scale up Pro production instead of the trims that are languishing

Itā€˜s not so much whining / complaining, as it is i am trying to make the point that if the federal / state government wants the masses to adopt EVā€™s the manufacturers will have to do something about the pricing. Perhaps when the research / development/ implementation of new battery technologies...
  4. Ford - scale up Pro production instead of the trims that are languishing

Im not certain that is an accurate comparison, but to use your logic the iPhone 15 Pro would then be the Lightning Platinum. I donā€™t want a Platinum. I want Ford to find a way to make the base truck (Pro) at a better price point. I know they are never going to be able to go back to the original...
  5. Ford - scale up Pro production instead of the trims that are languishing

I donā€™t believe they are losing money on every sale. They are rolling research and development into actual production costs to create that illusion. Ford (and others) have not yet recouped all of their long term costs yet. They are making profit on every sale - just more so on the higher trim...
  6. Ford - scale up Pro production instead of the trims that are languishing

You hit on my point exactly - I donā€™t want the iPhone 15 Pro, as the iPhone SE will suit my needs at $429. I donā€™t believe they are losing money on the Pro, they are choosing to build the luxury trims because they make more profit on them. EV have less parts and cost less to produce (Lithium...
  7. Ford - scale up Pro production instead of the trims that are languishing

I see LOTS of Lariat and XLT languishing on lots, not just in my area but in many places. I think instead of scaling back production of the Lightning, Ford needs to stop building unaffordable trim levels like Lariats and Platinums and instead increase production of the Pro trim. Make your...
  8. The Hits Just Keep on Coming (Ford News)

I bought a used ICE because of the disappointment of Ford not making the $39.999999K Lightning available when my number came up, as I was ready to replace the truck I had. My hope is that once this GMC is paid off Ford will have scaled up the production of Lightning Proā€™s for those of us that...
  9. Lightning Hallmark Keepsake Ornament

Picking mine up later today - only way Iā€™ll be having any kind of Lightning until 2025 !
  10. TheVerge: ‘I’m out’: Ford’s F-150 Lightning price hikes are costing it customers

I was under the impression from articles I have read, that EVā€™s were less expensive to build due to less moving parts and complicated systems ( e.g. catalytic converter and other components). This should have resulted in Ford being able to maintain reasonable pricing for not just the Pro but all...
  11. Ford's Lightning; How they ruined a great product.

Well, I am one of the folks that got beat out. I had day one reservation but never got invite to order the Pro with max tow I needed for my small business. Iā€™m even in NY state which is ZEV. Go figure. Had to buy a fossil fuel burner. Take that, Governor Hochul ! Iā€™ll keep killing the...
  12. Ford to shift workers to Lightning assembly plant

Too bad Ford only wants to build Platinums and Lariats. I think there is a market for an affordable work truck that is BEV. Donā€™t really need nor desire butt massagers in the seat between work sites, nor that ugly a$$ big tablet on the dashboard.
  13. No more PROS???

The 40k Pro was a publicity stunt. Ford had no interest whatsoever in making them. It was only to create headlines / buzz and pump up their stock price. I was ready to buy one for my small business, but even with a day 1 reservation was unable to purchase due to the dealer priority lists that...
  14. Fold Flat Work Surface Console Lid

Benny, looks like you were one of the lucky ones that got to order one of the 100 or so Pros they made !
  15. Fold Flat Work Surface Console Lid

Ford was too busy making Lariat and Platinum trims to try and maximize profits rather than listen to their customers. A great number of us would have bought the Pro and paid for upgrades. Most of us truck guys donā€™t want or need $80k+ trucks filled with moonroofs and ass massagers. I hope Ford...
  16. Any guesses on when XLT might become available again?

I had to cut bait & cancel, I wanted a Pro, but could have gone with XLT - butā€¦.the 2 consecutive cost increases have unfortunately priced me out of the market, as I wasnā€™t invited to order in the earlier waves ( even with a day 1 reservation - thanks Ford for the dealer priority list bul$hit )
  17. I was able to order my Lightning XLT today December 15

I received the email as well - but, between the price increase and the fact I donā€™t need nor want anything other than a Pro - I wonā€™t be able to have a Lightning. Very happy for all the others that will have the opportunity to enjoy this groundbreaking BEV.
  18. Portable charger limitations?

The TFL truck guys had the same issue when they took their Lightning to Alaska. Try looking on YouTube as they did a good job explaining this.
  19. Getting cold feet

Keep your PB. You can always move to the 2nd generation Lightning in a couple years. May have better range, and most bugs will have been worked out.
