We had this happen in Bakersfield, Ca at an EA in a Target parking lot. It’s in a nice part of town. I had read the attacker chose the victim because he figured he had money because he drove an electric car. Pretty sad how his wife found out...
Yes. They always do. Obama had to in 2011. Although they didn’t beforehand in 1992 and there was a 2 day strike, that’s the 5%. They did pass law ending the strike (more lockout) on the 2nd day.
It does but not by name. When you here about empty shelves at the stores and supply chain issues with rising prices, the railroad has skin in that game. Pretty much anything you can think of travels by rail in part.
It doesn’t matter who it’s shipped by right now. It’s happening to all of the Big 4 railroads. The Safety Transportation Board just had a hearing with them to which they all got scolded. Plus the UP just got ordered to prioritize grain to California for feed.
Update on rail delays. Short story… expect longer delays.

Most of the Lightnings, unlike the MMEs, seem to be on trains that run through Barstow without needing to be switched into new trains. Looks like the get put into new trains in Clovis. Which could lessen delay.
NorCal trains unload in Richmond and SoCal trains unload in SD. No option for anywhere else I’m afraid. It is what it is. Barstow is the big unknown. Could be there for a day or a month. Hit me up after this holiday weekend to see if it’s even switched into another train if you’d like.
My MME made it to Cali in 2 days, Barstow in 2 1/2. Barstow is where a big delay can happen. A couple of days to a few weeks. Luck of the draw getting through Barstow.
