I had multiple leaks but there are a few that are VERY common on F150's in general, not only the Lightning.
The most common one seems to be the cabin vents located behind the back seats. This is an easy one for you to check. They don't get clipped in all the way so they can leak water. If you...
So sorry you're having these issues...it sucks. That being said..it sounds like you're in the same situation I was in and you will get taken care of in the end. It's not a fast process, however.
1. Have you opened a case with the BBB Autoline? If not, that is the first real step...I didn't...
My understanding was that I could have agreed to let the Field Rep come out and take a look at my truck and work through the repairs (which could take months) and still have the option to decline the offer of the extended warranty. Knowing I was over the 30 day threshold for Oregon's Lemon Law...
Hi all!
Finalizing my buyback for my 23 Lariat Lightning and need to sell my amazing canopy I never even got to put to any real use.
Local Pickup only -
RSI EVO adventure Stainless Steel canopy, including a passenger side 1/2 bin.
Purchased September '23 from Offroad Alliance.
Made in the...
So far, since January they've found:
Both Cabin Vents leaking due to bad installation.
Missing Rivets in Passenger C Pillar.
Unspecified body joint that was missing sealer.
Unspecified body joint that had cracking sealer.
Currently in the shop after tech saw "multiple leaks front and rear of cabin"
Great question! I think a lot depends on how the rest of this process plays out. This was my first Ford, my first American vehicle and my worst experience with a manufacturer.
It does have the twin-panel moonroof but I didn't have any leaking from plugged drains to my knowledge. But there's always water running through those channels to the drains...it seems like a bizarre design but maybe that's how they all are? I don't understand where that water is coming from...
We had be LOVING our '23 Lightning Lariat! We purchased March 2023 and other than not having my canopy for camping season (backordered...got it in September), we loved everything about the truck.
Range: Non-issue, just takes a bit of thought and planning.
Size: Coming from a Tacoma, it...
Thanks for responding! I have extensive mold growing all over my entire carpet, just dropped off my truck today so I'm trying to get as much info as I can. Was the buyback process pretty straight forward? Was it something Ford initiated or did you? Here in Oregon there's a pretty clear cut...
@MacLightning what did they do to remedy the mold/mildew? Did they provide any documentation or explanation of their process? Have you had any issues since getting the truck back - such as faulty sensors, modules or any other potential electrical damage?
Thanks a ton!
Well I dropped the truck off today to get in Monday morning.
Took a lot of pics and video looking around the cab, removing my stuff, etc. I'll probably make a thread for informational purposes after talking to dealer Service rep on Monday.
@kendotelie were you able to get a loaner vehicle at all? I have a dropoff appointment Monday but I'm anticipating this isn't going to be a quick thing and want to plan ahead as much as possible.
Did you ever get an explanation/remedy for the leak?
Gotcha!
I usually back in, which puts my bed lower, except when I need to charge I have to pull nose in, which has the front lower. I can't recall whether or not the water sloshing noise happens with one or the other more often or at all?
Today my wife took my truck to pick up our daughter from school and sends me a picture asking if I saw the mold in my carpet. I hadn't.
when she got home I went out and there is mold spots all over under my rear seat, all along the edges of the back floor carpet where it meets the plastic, etc...
I agree 100%!
Honestly, I didn't even realize I was getting the Charge Station Pro with my truck, it wasn't until it was delivered that I realized it came standard with the ER battery. I was ignoring the 50x a day calls from Sunrun figuring they wanted me to sign up for some type of...
We're running a switch and router that covers our general disconnection from the world but some devices that are constantly searching or in discoverable mode interfere with some of my work equipment. It's annoying to say the least and the easiest, least time-consuming solution is to minimize...
It's a multi-pronged answer but to generalize, I just have made the move in my life (and my family's) to minimize distractions, screens, constant notifications, etc. One way we've worked towards that is to rarely have our WiFi running. The things that require an internet connection are...
