I've been told it's the coolant circulating pump operating at the max possible speed as a failsafe to prevent anything from overheating while updating.
Doing it all over again in terms of going back to October 2022? Definitely the Lightning still, it was the only thing that fit my bill and I'm super satisfied with it.
Today? If I didn't have a Lightning what would I get? That might be more complicated. Well 2 weeks ago I took delivery of an...
I don’t have a source for whether the hardware is incapable of meeting the NHTSA/SAE requirements. Simply that there is not even a test procedure published for it in the first place. I honestly doubt Ford would retroactively enable this even if it turns out the hardware is sufficient.
I think the pattern I noticed was on DCFC it flips to rated miles no matter what. When L2 charging it keeps your estimated range, until you hit around 100% and then it flips to EPA again.
My PSCM did clear (in the past I’ve seen this too) but RFA and ACM did not. I think you are fine to ignore them unless you got an error during programming or there’s DTCs that persist beyond initially clearing them.
I think Ford's requirements are overstated for the processor speeds -- I use a i9-13900K portable to program in its "silent" 13W profile where it's probably not much more powerful than your i5.
I haven't applied any updated since September and spent an afternoon updating the whole kitchen sink (including APIM/TCU, BECM, PSCM+IPMA, etc).
The updates themselves all went very smoothly. I did have the whole Christmas tree of errors during one of the updates, which is the first time I've...
Note that I wasn't the one asking for a description of the feature, but this is a great description
It can be activated via FORSCAN and is honestly one of the best FORSCAN mods available. I find it absolutely absurd the oddly specific things that the NHTSA wants to strictly regulate and the...
I took a look just a few months ago and though the NHTSA approved adaptive headlights, the specifications they prescribed are not the same as UN-ECE's, especially with regards to the maximum permitted delay and the size of the dimming zones. They referred to USDOT to provide the testing...
Well I expected a reset of the TCU to at least bounce the cellular and WiFi connections given that’s where the Qualcomm baseband is, but I didn’t see such an effect. FORScan did claim it was successful, similar to the APIM reset. Either way, unfortunately for this issue none of the 3 module...
Yeah this worked for me too. I had suspected that the stalled checking for updates may be related as I’ve never had trouble with previous USB stick updates. I always keep decent
so I did try this first and the reboot button for the TCU did not appear to do anything. I hit the reboot on the GWM...
I think the OP is talking about the one in the parking lot with Anthony's Grill and Mojave Thai on the other side of the parking lot.
That location has:
4 250kW stalls: These should work
6 150kW stalls next to Anthony's. These will not work
2 72kW stalls. These will not work.
There's another...
Interesting, my '22 Lightning had the same as the other poster above, the BECM+SODM*+GFM2+PSCM+DCDC combo. I was able to get all of them to apply without issue. Like everyone else, the ACM and RFA updates seem to persist even after doing them.
FWIW I have the BCM update that I can't apply, but...
I haven't checked in about two weeks but today I see a crap ton of updates including some powertrain updates. I'll almost certainly do the APIM but are the other updates safe? I'm wary we haven't seen an official lifting of the advisory on those updates yet.
most people don’t use FDRS as an extremely expensive diagnostics scanner or settings changer — Forscan is usually a more popular tool for that purpose and works with much cheaper cables too.
We mostly use it for updating firmware earlier than OTA offerings and for some tasks like recalibrating...
Can you tell if the IPMA update going to these vehicles is newer or older than the one that’s been in FDRS? Has the EA update gone to cars that had previously been brought up to date?
I have been told that at least the PSCM update is a key component in the lane holding improvements associated...
AFAIK you need both right? First you need the IPMA related updates that come through FDRS.
If you already had BC 1.2 or 1.3 that alone gets you 1.4.
but if you start from 1.0, these updates get you BC 1.0 with the lane keeping algorithm improvements of 1.4, but without the lane change or...
