  1. Slight vibration on smooth roads in new Platinum

Kind of a known issue on some Lightning trucks at least built in August of 23. Best of luck getting anyone to help. One owner has had all tires, wheels and rear motor swapped at the dealer to no avail. He was awating a front motor swap and finally lemoned it. I had the same issue, 2023...
  2. Real Highway Efficiency Comparison: Lightning SR vs. Silverado EV

This weekend I was ferrying my Lightning South to be sold. Anyway, having the perfect opportunity, I decided to do a true highway efficiency test between the two trucks. My Son (very much smiling) driving the 4WT and me with my Lightning. 2023 Lightning XLT SR VS 2024 Silverado EV 4WT. Ambient...

  5. Engineering Explained: Best practices tips to slow down LFP Battery degrading & extend SOH life

Yes I’ll have seen many reviews of the Tesla Winter range loss with the LFP as well as the Chicago US charging issues last Winter due to the LFPs not preheating as well accepting 1.2-1.4 kWh charging rates…

  7. Engineering Explained: Best practices tips to slow down LFP Battery degrading & extend SOH life

I agree. I am from Maine. Cold and LFP do not mix. I am anxious to see a Mach E LFP VS NMC comparison below freezing.....

Hyundai has the leg up on EV heating. The Ioniq 5 has an 100% efficient variable power 7 kW resistive air duct heater for backup and super cold weather in the cabin. -15 to 70F in under 10 minutes. They also have a "Refrigerant to air" coil for the heat pump next to the duct heater. NO FLUID...
  10. Starting to get LVB 12v warnings...

Yup. “We feel the shake but our balancer is broken so you need to bring it back again so we can prove it’s bad and get a replacement”. But I have a slip from my tire place and a roadforce report that says it has 36# of RF. “Oh but they may be wrong” ….uugh. My dealer is 1 hour from home and...

  15. I did a deep dive into Lightning Level 2 efficiency today!

Exactly what I found. Anything Battery Capacity or % related is an estimated number and cannot be exact, especially on the Lightning . One interesting thing is my Hyundai Ioniq 5 was spot on every time. Even mi/kWh, kWh charged multiplied by 0.92 always matched BMS battery actual kWh and...
  16. Anyone done a deep dive into real Level 2 charge efficiency?

And here is what I got from the Trucks BMS in my followup post. . Thanks for posting. 82% could not be right..... Final tally.. I downloaded the whole charge from Carscanner and Input charge Voltage and Current and Output as well as battery absorbed power. 40.00160 kWH Into the trucks DC...
  17. I did a deep dive into Lightning Level 2 efficiency today!

I posted another scan from home where it showed 82% Level 2 Charging efficiency, metered power into my Level 2 home charger to actual charged power to the battery of the truck. On two occasions I have calculated this efficiency and something was not right or the lightning charger is terribly...
  18. I did a deep dive into Lightning Level 2 efficiency today!

Final tally.. I downloaded the whole charge from Carscanner and Input charge Voltage and Current and Output as well as battery absorbed power. 40.00160 kWH Into the trucks DC charger from my work level 2 charger. 36.8887 kWH from the charger out to the Trucks battery Calculates to an Exact...
