This is why the insurance company basically forced me to have it totaled. They were worried the real repair bill was going to be twice the $35k estimate
The frame is not damaged at all, nor is the battery. She drives fine, it's all cosmetic damage, but because the tree hit the top of the cab it'd be a lot of work. Broke both the windshield and the back glass. I have the estimate here, $19K in parts; the frunk liner, headlight, head liner, and...
I had a '23 Pro damaged by a tree a little over a month ago. It was deemed a total loss. Well now the salvage yard is auctioning it off.
Here is the link to the auction. I'm pretty curious as to what it ends up selling for.

Where in CT are you? I'm in RI, I have a PRO, and I am considering the heated steering wheel mod. I already installed a Lariat heated wheel, but need to purchase the new clockspring and harness.
IAA came and picked the truck up yesterday. If anyone is looking for a salvage Lightning there should be one coming to auction here in Rhode Island soon.
As for the insurance settlement, I ended up taking $4K in depreciation over the 7 months it was on the road. Bought a '23 ER PRO this week...
It's all cosmetic, the truck drives fine. It's just not road worthy with the 1 headlight. In fact I had it towed home and I parked it in my driveway while I dispute the insurance offer. Called my attorney and I'll let him take it from here.
I have the full line item breakdown yes. The biggest single line item is the Frunk insert at $2,770.43, but the rear taillights were not far behind, $2,025.22 a piece.
Hey RDR, any chance you could send me the name of this Northern Virginia dealer? I got the written estimate today. $34,017.08, and as a "visual inspection only."
They want to total it, but are saying I have to take $7k in depreciation for the 7 months I've owned it. So I can't buy a new one...
I'm curious if anyone else is worried about the availability of Tesla chargers once they open up to other makes. I have a Tesla, and though we've only run into a completely full Tesla Supercharging station once, they aren't ever empty when I visit either. Most of the time, most of the spots have...
Follow up #1. Got the call today, truck is a total loss. Now I need to provide an Actual Cash Value, because what the appraiser quoted is ridiculous. Initial ACV was appraised at $39K.
If anybody has been through this Actual Cash Value nonsense, I'm all ears.
No injuries, yet, We'll see how I feel after I talk to the insurance guy Tuesday (there was a 2023 Tesla right next to it that now has a ventilated glass roof as well).
As it turns out, the tape didn't hold up. Bought a set of Ford All Weather mats instead, and the molded shape holds them in place fairly well without clips.
