We were the first install in Austin and went through all the working, not working tribulations. One of the main reasons I got the Lightning was the HIS system. For the last 3 months it has worked.
My HIS has been working consistently for the last 3 months. I went thru the frustrations and finally got to the point of being able to pair the charger and truck without help. A couple of pro tips...get the passenger rear door with the back seat down as close to the charger as possible. After...
Has your bi-directional worked at least once? Mine has worked fifteen or so times with this latest go round it worked for three days straight and the fourth and fifth times... no bueno. This has been the pattern and I'll talk to Ford and relay information and ask when "The Fix" will be fixed. I...
I tested it twice with the new update and it works fine. Three months ago we got it working inconsistently. one day it worked eight times and other days maybe once and another day it would not work, this pattern went on for a bit until the not working was the norm. The Ford head honcho said they...
These are over the air updates that came on June 8, Ford power-up 4.2.3.1, it says " While you may have seen this update before,we're resending to ensure some houskeeping features are included to help further enhance your user experience". The head trouble shooter at Ford said this update should...
David installed mine also. The new update 4.2.3.1 "seems to" have fixed the communication between the truck and the inverter. In regard to the 2nd bubble it was off and the bi-directional was working with this new update.
The recent update 4.2.3.1 has worked in allowing the bi-directional to kick in and power the house. I will be re creating a power outage this week and hoping to get consistent results.
Have it running is a relative term. Does it work ...Yes, does it work everytime No. This spottiness leads me to believe it is a software issue, between the inverter and the truck. I am willing to wait for the technology to catch up. This is the first one in Austin Texas and I believe it will get...
We up graded the main to 200 amps and there is plenty of room for 100 amp breaker. So my preference is direct to the main and I think that's how it will play out. Should have answers in a week.
Our over all electricity usage is low and we are working out details right now. I want whole house and I would manage the various loads, we shall see. Yes we are using ETW Energy and the VP has been great to work with, way better than earlier Sunrun hurry up and wait.
We are getting the charger installed first and then the bi-directional as the permits come through. This is going to be the first HIS backup Sunrun and City of Austin have installed so there is a learning curve in play. I have solar and want to try to charge the Lightning when the grid goes down...
