One BIG positive for me, smaller truck. My main gripe with my Lightning is it a full size truck, which I VERY seldom need for a daily driver. Rivian smaller, but not as convenient as Lightningās use of space, I.e., the FRUNK.
On my ā22 Lariat, I get 2 to 2.2 in winter, 2.6 to over 3 in summer. It is our daily driver and weāre about 25 miles from town, so lot of 50 to 60 mph on country roads involved. GREAT vehicle, now I just wished someone would make a smaller ev truck (loved my 2018 Ridgeline, snow, ice, ā¦no issues).
Interesting comments and I certainly g donāt disagree with them. Ido think mostly that making more affordable models would be a big boost Within the industry, and although I really like and use my Lightning as daily driver, I would prefer something a bit smaller as very seldom use hauling...
Which app do I need, there are several? One is like maps, one is Tesla membership,ā¦. Iām a bit confused, so any help is appreciated.
thanx in advance, Roger
I shared you frustration when first bought the Lightning. We purchased in Muscle Shoals, AL and drove to Southern Oregon, via Chicago, in late December, 2022. I quickly learned (1st day) to follow the Ford Pass info for charge stations. Actuallythe dealer tech had programmed the route and as...
This your first winter in the truck? 18,000+ miles, would have thought had that experience before. Weāre 30 miles from town, but our winter temps usually above zero. With SR truck, have not had your kind of issues, although we brought in winter 2022 in Alabama, it was an adventure getting...
Historically, I āve kept ICE vehicles 8 to 14 years, usually 120,000 to 180,000 miles. Always in very good condition as well. Iām 80 now, so my ā22 Lariat is probably my last truck as long as it stays reliable. If not, might do a smaller EV. Also have 2023 PHEV, so maybe not.
I have SR Lariat. Recently towed an 700 lb trailer empty about400 miles at I5 speeds. Went from average 2 mi/kwh to about 1.8. Loaded for return trip with 1200 lb load. āMileageā dropped to average of about 1.6 mi/kwh. Note, starting elevation 4,200 ft, down to sea level - returned to 4,200...
Great in the snow and ice here. Use the third driver mode, without one pedal, for slippery weather driving. I bought mine in Alabama year ago December. Drove cross country to Oregon in some pretty bad weather for my very first trip. Truck was awesome, had some dc charging adventures in...
SR Lariatabout perfect, even up here near Klamath Falls when typically pretty cold and snowy winter. Charge at home once or twice a week and does well for 30 to 40 mile trips to tow. Have towed to Bay Area couple times, but still all good with stop or two for DCFC. For longer road trips, PHEV...
