I was showing off my Lightning at a local Earth Day & EV owners meet-up. Lots of different EVs and great conversations and a presentation by local electrical utility.
I was having a friendly conversation with a Tesla Rep when the talk turned dark and threatening. Maybe I was stupid to mention...
Don't know about the Apple Maps but ABRP is great, although not quite as good as the Tesla app. Happy to let you borrow my adapter if I get it in time from Ford (I'm 8,500 🙄). If you do use the Tesla Super chargers, remember that the charging cord is just a tad short so you may need to crab a...
Ford filed a patent application for “smart charge scheduling” for a fleet of electric vehicles “considering grid demand.” Ford’s application details a system to control charging of multiple EVs “arriving at, and departing from, different charging stations at different times.”

Hi, what is the advantage of hooking the tender up at the jump points, as you show, as opposed to putting a similar grommet in the LVB compartment cover, and hooking up the neg terminal downstream of the BMS sensor? Or is it just a personal preference? Thank you for the info...
I'm hearing a lot of this: “... we have more than our share of the nattering nabobs of negativism..." (if you are of an age that remembers the saying) ;)
Of course, there's still hope: https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1142152_ev-sales-near-8-of-us-new-vehicle-market
I assume 80A FCSP doesn't matter either? Are there any AC L2 chargers to avoid? I was thinking that only DCFC would contribute to battery degradation over long-term. Or is that mostly high kW DC chargers?
Sounds like a great project and you absolutely should blog it on TikTok or Instagram! Is your Lightning an extended range battery? No matter what, those short drives shouldn't be a problem but I don't know what chargers are available along your route. I kind of get why some suggest hybrids...
This gets more confusing the more posts I read about it. Sorry, my brain must be failing. It's a revelation to me, at least, that the Ford website dashboard SOC is the LVB (if I understand correctly from the above). So what are the best recommendations? I should try charging the LVB using...
Very bad wording on the screen. My dealer also had trouble figuring out exactly what it was saying. It should be clear that it is a "test" and what the Alert means.
@Ford Motor Company - my vehicle also has the "3 quick shudders" thing, not necessarily at 3mph, but usually just after accelerating and my foot pressure lets up on 1PD. It's inconsistent. I have not yet addressed this with my dealership FYI.
I've had my Lariat for two weeks. I often get 3 quick "shudders" during 1PD at the point after acceleration is transitioning to stable speed. At first I thought it was caused by road surface but now I note that it occurs fairly frequently.
Also, no idea if it even is related, but today while...
