I just discovered the radiator when I was attaching a rope to one of the tow hooks to yank a shrub stump out of the ground. I wish I filmed it. The root snapped and the ball (size of a toddler) slingshot across my front lawn and landed a few feet in front of the truck.
Update: truck sat for 3 days before they looked at it at the end of the day Friday. Shifter to be replaced. Might see it a week after I dropped it off.
Iām glad to know about this workaround, but Iām sticking with my plan to NOT do it so the dealer sees it happen vs taking my word for it if I bring it in fixed. I love a good hack, but not if itās gonna be a recurring safety concern. I want it FIXED.
I appreciate that! I wonāt try it until I make the dealer try to fix it. Itās a real safety issue and I want to make sure it goes on its permanent record to secure my warranty rights.
So, Iām doing some low speed parking and departing today and I keep putting the truck in the wrong gear. I figure Iāve just forgotten how to drive this very day. When Iām back safely in my drive way I test it. Sure enough, pulling from P to R the shifter has a detent and is still in P. Same...
Update update: 45 minutes before they close, dealership calls and my truck is fixed. Bucket of codes cleared. Wire Asy Jumper part NL3Z14A411D replaced, 12v battery connections checked. Truck seems fine.
changing my vote to resolved.
Update on mine: DAY 16: a lot of movement yesterday and the service manager wanted to take it home for an extended test drive after āreplacing a wiring harnessā. Charging it at 5 Kw at dealership now. They want to run more tests before giving it back to me today. Theyāre running out of hours...
Iām pretty sure pool chemicals have to be outside a vehicleās cabin. I know from having āsealedā chlorine tablets at home the fumes can be overwhelming and dangerous.
Trucks, like tools, are depreciating assets. I have a down and dirty ā11 F150 XL that I hung onto after I bought my Lightning. I couldnāt even get $5,000 for it and itās a great low-mileage work truck. However, itās paid for itself many times over in service to my construction company.
Hopefully...
Mine is at the dealership since 6/26/24 after having a drivetrain malfunction and high voltage battery warning. Itās throwing 2 error codes related to the TCM. Looks like they were test driving it 7/3/24 and I was getting āmessagesā on Ford Pass that the Pro Onboard Power and Frunk outlet cover...
Right. They know what the codes mean but they donāt know how to fix the truck. Both codes are to do with the TCM. It seems theyāre trying to find the transmission. Theyāre gonna pull one of the motors to see if they can find it. I wish I was making this up.
Mine had a Powertrain Malfunction, then a High Voltage Battery Warning later that day. Undriveable. Ford dealership techs baffled by these error codes that pertain to a transmission control module (TCM). Apparently theyāre talking to engineers at Ford. Iām not finding these codes on a Lightning...
