  1. Leaves in the radiator? Why is it designed like this?

I just discovered the radiator when I was attaching a rope to one of the tow hooks to yank a shrub stump out of the ground. I wish I filmed it. The root snapped and the ball (size of a toddler) slingshot across my front lawn and landed a few feet in front of the truck.
  2. Shifter: suddenly has two “extra” detents

Update: truck sat for 3 days before they looked at it at the end of the day Friday. Shifter to be replaced. Might see it a week after I dropped it off.
  3. Shifter: suddenly has two “extra” detents

Yep. I want a new one and not a workaround.
  4. Shifter: suddenly has two “extra” detents

I’m glad to know about this workaround, but I’m sticking with my plan to NOT do it so the dealer sees it happen vs taking my word for it if I bring it in fixed. I love a good hack, but not if it’s gonna be a recurring safety concern. I want it FIXED.
  5. Shifter: suddenly has two “extra” detents

I appreciate that! I won’t try it until I make the dealer try to fix it. It’s a real safety issue and I want to make sure it goes on its permanent record to secure my warranty rights.
  6. Shifter: suddenly has two “extra” detents

Agreed. I won’t drive it until it’s fixed. I don’t want it to get into my head that I might or might not be in the right gear…
  7. Shifter: suddenly has two “extra” detents

So, I’m doing some low speed parking and departing today and I keep putting the truck in the wrong gear. I figure I’ve just forgotten how to drive this very day. When I’m back safely in my drive way I test it. Sure enough, pulling from P to R the shifter has a detent and is still in P. Same...
  8. Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power Poll

Update update: 45 minutes before they close, dealership calls and my truck is fixed. Bucket of codes cleared. Wire Asy Jumper part NL3Z14A411D replaced, 12v battery connections checked. Truck seems fine. changing my vote to resolved.
  9. Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power Poll

Update on mine: DAY 16: a lot of movement yesterday and the service manager wanted to take it home for an extended test drive after ā€œreplacing a wiring harnessā€. Charging it at 5 Kw at dealership now. They want to run more tests before giving it back to me today. They’re running out of hours...
  10. Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power Poll

Agreed. I’d also like to see vote option showing how many are resolved via buyback/Lemon Law.
  11. Using a Lightning for swimming pool routes. Yay or nay?

Tailgate step sounds nice. Another good option is a flip-down bumper step for around $150. I have them on both my trucks.
  12. Using a Lightning for swimming pool routes. Yay or nay?

I’m pretty sure pool chemicals have to be outside a vehicle’s cabin. I know from having ā€œsealedā€ chlorine tablets at home the fumes can be overwhelming and dangerous.
  13. Using a Lightning for swimming pool routes. Yay or nay?

Trucks, like tools, are depreciating assets. I have a down and dirty ā€˜11 F150 XL that I hung onto after I bought my Lightning. I couldn’t even get $5,000 for it and it’s a great low-mileage work truck. However, it’s paid for itself many times over in service to my construction company. Hopefully...
  14. Anyone having this issue? Front Trunk Outlet Cover Not Shut

I think this might be the truck I reserved but didn’t buy. I’d love to see this for my truck, tho. How do I access this info? Thank you.
  15. Anyone having this issue? Front Trunk Outlet Cover Not Shut

Mine is at the dealership since 6/26/24 after having a drivetrain malfunction and high voltage battery warning. It’s throwing 2 error codes related to the TCM. Looks like they were test driving it 7/3/24 and I was getting ā€œmessagesā€ on Ford Pass that the Pro Onboard Power and Frunk outlet cover...
  16. Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power Poll

Question for the ā€œYes now resolvedā€ group: how many days was your truck out of commission? Thank you.
  17. P0887 and P0613 error code

Right. They know what the codes mean but they don’t know how to fix the truck. Both codes are to do with the TCM. It seems they’re trying to find the transmission. They’re gonna pull one of the motors to see if they can find it. I wish I was making this up.
  18. P0887 and P0613 error code

Mine had a Powertrain Malfunction, then a High Voltage Battery Warning later that day. Undriveable. Ford dealership techs baffled by these error codes that pertain to a transmission control module (TCM). Apparently they’re talking to engineers at Ford. I’m not finding these codes on a Lightning...
