I think all of your questions are answered via the uber smart folks on this thread. Just wanted to add a thank you for your service as law enforcement! Protecting your community is greatly appreciated!
Y’all are nitpicking and missing the point. You should not HAVE to update your truck yourself in the first place. Glad ya can don’t get me wrong as I know many love to tinker. But you don’t have to run separate software and manually uplate other stuff in your tech life like your PC, phone, AV...
I was not saying you shouldn’t be able to. I was saying you shouldn’t have to pay Ford to buy the software to update a truck yourself that was supposed to be updated through OTA.
Just jumping in to say I too (23 Lariat) finally got the BC 1.4. I downloaded while I was golfing for a few hours, so when I got home it installed in like 5 minutes. Went out and tooled up and down the highway to test it out. Worked great, including the lane change.
I have to side comment...
Ah ha! Thanks for explaining it was the BCM update that did it. I have no desire to tinker with FORscan as I’ll error on the side of caution, not to screw around with the electronic brains of a thing that can kill me or strand me.
Maybe in the next Ford vehicle they will migrate to better...
About a week or so ago, after I got home from getting my 23 Lariat from getting TSB-25-2105 (replaced TSB-25-2048 according to the service manager) where they updated everything they could on my truck for me, I found I suddenly for the first time had walk away lock (not sure what they updated...
I just found a new wish!! That the Premium Connectivity from Ford included the vehicle hot spot!!
I just went down the rabbit hole to try to understand the Premium Connectivity to see if it is worth it for an upcoming trip or for general summer road trip season. I of course applied logic and...
Oh I know. But thread did say “wishlist” so I wished for things other EVs in our cost profile have. ?
My lightning is still my fav vehicle I ever had! Will resume rituals to the ota deities for BC 1.4 As you suggest.
Sorry, I am stuck on "BC 1.4 out of the way"...is it really? I and a lot of other don't have it...
Dog mode, camping mode, "ProPower Mode" (power without truck on), built in dashcam using the cameras, etc. bring it on! But please don't encourage them to charge more for these "standard on...
Let the OP dream of features other manufactures have with visions of maybe someday Ford will follow suit. BMW for instance (to pick a non-Tesla example) uses the cameras in their EV's for dash cam video grabs and it takes pictures when the alarm goes off...does not kill the battery.
And...
I had to finally replace my OG tires on my Lariat and went with the Defenders. Enough folks picked these on this forum plus it is what Discount Tire's system thing recommending for the Lightning also. So far really liking them (but just coming off my winter wheels with Blizzaks so anything...
I would not give up the mega power frunk for more range. Range is never an issue but for towing and that is a separate issue. Would rather have 800v battery etc. with same range with faster dc charging (10-80% in 20mins or less please) and keep the frunk!!
Have to agree the app is mega sub par compared to other EV makers besides just comparing to Tesla. If you disagree then you have not experienced enough other apps yet which is not your your fault.
Nope. Golf clubs and a push cart locked up tight all summer while driving a pick up doing pickup things at the same time worth giving up? Never.
l trust that future engineers will sort out mega power frunk + more range + efficiency solution = new truck FTW (For The Win…to save you a google...
Wish Ford would just integrate the cameras in the truck into the app and truck in such a cool way we would not need to have this discussion. Other EV’s do that besides just Tesla so hoping someday Ford does too. Maybe in the T3 and beyond will make such a leap.
