I got the wrench on and off. Probably drove it for two weeks before it got fixed. Even months before that, I would occasionally notice the shifter being stiff.
Everything has been great since they replaced the shifter module
Our oldest daughter moved there back on January. I also like the Tesla chargers. Found one on the east side of Indy that gave variable rates based on time of day. Me being an early riser, was able to charge for .38/ kwh.
Wife and I have done Akron to Indianapolis 3 times this year in my standard range Pro. Each time we notice more and more places to charge. We generally stop twice, which allows us to arrive with plenty of charge.
Most of these are the shifter module. The ones needing to be towed, or unable to charge, yeah, those are more serious. I was responding to the first one, which I went through a couple months ago.
I disagree
My Pro after rebate was about 47k. With just my stock features, that is comparable to an Ice with the same package.
As for charging, charging at home is done on down time. I plug it in, walk inside, carry on with my life. No lines, no fumes, no weather, and all at an 80 percent cost...
Warning will pop up again. I drive mine for about 3 weeks during the issue, and never noticed anything. I rarely venture more than 10 miles from home though.
Got mine back from service on Wednesday. Mine is the shifter module, as I suspected. Took a few days to get the part, so will take it back next week for that.
I am in the same boat. Had the warning pop up a couple times a few weeks ago. Haven't called for service yet, and it no longer pops up. Will still get it in soon.
I am now part of the PTM club. Got the icon this morning. After reading here, I think mine is the shifter. Will contact dealer Monday to schedule service. Currently on charger and over 64 percent.
2.2 after 8500 miles. Probably half expressway of 65 plus, and half on the road. One long trip of 600 miles round trip all expressway. Ohio weather also plays into that. I bet in a warmer state, I would be closer to 2.4.
Suffered two rock chips in the first 6 months of ownership. I think these windshields magnetically attract rocks. Had Safelite do the first, $150, then I bought a kit for the second.
Nope, this suits me just fine. First time driving more than 100 miles in 18 months. Wasn't worth the $20,000 for me to get the larger one. I have the stock Pro, which ended up at about 47k after the rebate. It fits my needs to a tee.
This is Ohio, in March, driving 70 to 75 MPH. You will get about 160 to 170 miles with 100% charge. Big cities have the best assortment of chargers. Columbus, from home is about 120 miles, Dayton is about another 50 miles. Wasn't going to reach that. Also, most chargers slow down after 80%, so...
Wife and I made the trip from Akron Ohio, to Indianapolis Indiana over the weekend. 2023 standard range Pro, total trip of about 300 miles. I had never charged anywhere except home, prior to this. Intended to stick with the Tesla chargers, as I was more concerned with reliability than price...
I would try one pedal drive in a heartbeat if I didn't also regularly drive a gasser. I think it would be difficult going back and forth from 1 vehicle to the other
Regarding letting the wife driving the Lightning. After owning mine for several months, my wife's car was in the shop so I let her take the truck to work that day. Later on, when I got home, I asked her how she liked driving the truck. Her three words response was, "I want one!!"
