Ford eventually made it right, but it took over a month for them to replace half the heating system. Turned out to be a bad pump from the factory, so QC failed hard.
The dealership was the worst though. And more to blame than Ford. Complete assholes. Courtesy Ford of Gresham Oregon. Avoid at all...
Hindsights 20/20 I guess. It wasn't like I knew it was going to take that long. I started the conversation at the time, but probably should have pushed harder.
Yeah, that’s how I’m choosing to think about it. Silver lining is I could sell back now that I can’t drive it.
Im usually good about not comparing and killing my happiness. It’s really just about doing that while also having a lemon of a truck.
Am I blaming Ford for delivering a truck without heat and now with a powertrain malfunction? Yes.
What are you even talking about? I left the truck with a ford dealer to fix it under warranty.
Why are you capitalizing random words?
This is probably more of a vent than anything, but does anyone else feel pretty screwed over by Ford, their dealers, and their pricing?
Just ~90 short days ago I pulled the trigger on a '23 XLT SR, and then immediately had to drop it off at the dealer for 45 days or so while they reinstalled...
It covers it, but on what timeline? They just aren’t motivated to do anything about it. The dealer says it’s Ford’s problem, and Ford tells me to call the dealer. Been a month now.
I just got an xlt sr for $55.5k, and I feel like I got a pretty good deal.
Granted, I realized 24 hours later that the heat doesn’t work, and the dealer and ford are telling me “too bad”. But other than that, a great deal.
ah, great news! I’m glad you got it working!
For me, the dealer just replaced an oil pump and a heater unit, but it apparently did not do the trick. I’ll forward this to them though, thanks!
At this point I’m left with a pretty bad taste in my mouth. Between the dealer that sold it to me...
Agreed 100%. I’ve only driven mine for 2 of the 10 days I’ve owned it, but I want to love it. It naive of me, for sure, but I would hope someone from Ford would read all this and realize that all the f150 loyalty won’t apply here if the early adopters are getting screwed.
That sucks.
For better or worse, I was able to call in some favors - no thanks to the dealer that sold it to me - and get a tech to look at it. They say they’re seeing “some weird electrical signals” and have escalated to ford.
I would think Ford would be scrambling and prioritizing to address...
Yeah, thanks. It’s been in the 20s and 30s here in Oregon too. So not great timing. It’s all a bit frustrating for my first experience with Ford. (Always been a Toyota family)
But I will say, the dealer that sold it to me has been trying to offer help, but they’re 3+ hours away. The dealer...
Thanks. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe that’s the heat setting I mentioned in my original post. It used to be called e-heat, but now it’s just heat. I turn it on, off, on, and it’s always frigid air.
coolant for the heat? I will give it a look for sure, but is it transferring heat that much?
edit: assuming I’m looking at the right coolant tank (in the frunk, right in front of the steering wheel) then I am right at the max line, and that isn’t my issue.
thanks so much for your quick reply!
Unfortunately, no. Defrost doesn’t generate any heat either.
my VIN is not listed for that recall.
more ideas welcome!
Hey all,
First let me say that my “e-heat” is turned on. It’s now just called “heat”, but I have toggled that many times, to no avail.
I picked up my new 2023 SR on Friday, and I was loving it until about halfway through my 100 mile journey home, when I realized how cold it had gotten. The...
