  1. Considering switching back to the Model X. Realistic private sale value for my 2024 Lightning Platinum?

I hadn't thought about the AirTag.... But I did turn in a MachE last month. $35k residual, but only $25k Blue Book. If they would have negotiated, I might have kept it. But in the end, it will go to auction, get sold for $22, certified, and sold for $27 (just my guesses). So Ford loses...
  2. Lease Buy-Out……. Yes or No?

My lease has a very clear buyout term. I also saw that aluded to this week, and I was wondering if they have changed or perhaps they want certain vehicles back? Remember the GM EV1 was never intended for buyouts. On a related note, has anyone renegotiated the buyout? My original residual...
  3. Tesla V4 not working for me

As a rule I've found that at co-located Tesla and {insert brand} stations, the Tesla chargers are not open to other users.
  4. EV Charger Tax Credit/Rebate Woes ..... This Has GOT to be a joke!

I hit on two of the three as well. I guess it was to keep the "rich" from benefitting. I am far from rich, but do okay, and don't live in a depressed housing area. But, how many of the people who do are buying EVs (any type, brand, or price)?
  5. Ford’s F-150 Lightning is falling behind Tesla’s Cybertruck in deepening EV crisis

The headlines are often written by someone other than the writer. So they quickly pull out a “fact” from the article. I’ve been laughing at headline vs story for years.
  6. Curious why some do not use 1 pedal driving.

Because my SO doesn't like it. If I turn it on, then she has to turn it off. LOL. On the other hand, when using BC, I like to push the envelope and speed up a bit when it backs off due to a car in my lane. If 1PD is on, as soon as you then release, you start to decelerate. Minor...
  7. Have you noticed... (lesser known features of our trucks)

I love this. I had this in my two prior Mercedes SUVs, albeit there wasn't a physical shifter. But I love just turning off the truck and it making sure you are in park!
  8. PAAK - New Phone warning!

/TLDR - I could have been locked out of my truck at the mall, after picking up my new iPhone So, I carry a physical key for the Lightning, but not the MachE. Both are set up for PAAK, which I love. I just can't make myself stop carrying a truck key. For years, when I travel for work, after I...
  9. Tesla engineer warns against using extension cords at Superchargers

Much like I've complained for 40 years that some manufacturers put gas fills on the right side of the car, or "gasp", on the front fender!
  10. PTS/FDRS VIN Check Thread

Can I get a fresh check, now that the embargo seems to be lifted? 1FT6W1EVXPWG42915
  11. Is Anybody Happy With Their Lightning?

Yes No. Sorry, I wanted a brief answer and wrote the wrong.
  12. Air dam……. It

It is a lease, so I had to fix it. Unscientifically, I noticed no performance difference.
  13. Air dam……. It

I struck a moving recap at speed. Same damage. I removed the dam for several weeks with no issues, but had it all repaired under my comp insurance.
  14. Head-on collision in my Lightning Pro

... or, in MD at least 1 would be "high".
  15. EV Adoption by state (map)

They literally drive them until the wheels fall off down there. I'd be curious to see what the average age of registered vehicles is per state, and how that map would compare.
  16. How often to run your ICE vehicle?

I've got a classic BMW that sits most of the winter, but I take it out every 4-6 weeks for a quick run out on the highway and back. I check the air in the tires, and keep the fuel level high thorughout the winter. Nothing more needed.
  17. Ford has data on Pro-Power usage?

Here's the article if anyone wants to read it; https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-weather/hurricanes/article/hurricane-beryl-power-updates-houston-heat-19563819.php#trucks-being-used-as-generators--161738
  18. Do you have to give up all your driver assist features when you attach a trailer?

Did you safety features remain when towing with the Model S?
  19. Lightning Software Updates using FDRS

Most software comes with a shrink-wrapped license. Meaning, you break the shrink-wrap, and the license is in full force, non-returnable. Even though this is a download, the same logic probably applies. You apply the key and open the software, it's yours.
