  1. Bought Me The Perfect RV For The Lightning

We tow an ancient popup and get roughly 2.0-1.7 kWh range depending on elevation and temps of course. Don’t even know it’s there most of the time. Popup is about 3500 lbs. Our last trip was 1.9-2.0 but we were taking it easy speed wise and it was mostly flat/slight decline on trip back so that...
  2. Another reason the frunk kicks arse! Beach day!

been to beach daily as well as sunsets each night. Kids have brought so much sand into truck I’m just thinking of hitting it with leaf blower when we get home!
  3. Another reason the frunk kicks arse! Beach day!

Any noticeable range loss? Truck is daily driver with maybe 2-4 snow trips and annual beach trip. Most of my “offroad” is fire roads that a Subaru could manage lol
  4. Another reason the frunk kicks arse! Beach day!

Beach day fun. Put up a “tent” made for hatch back/SUV type vehicles. Worked great using frunk hood! Great place to watch the kiddos play in water while sitting in front of truck. didn’t do much sand driving/stuck to hard packed sand, little bit of slip while in off-road mode when I got into...
  5. 7,600 Miles, 7 National Parks, 1 Spruce Goose with my F-150 Lightning

Thanks! Yosemite valley in June! 3 trips to park last year ;)
  6. 7,600 Miles, 7 National Parks, 1 Spruce Goose with my F-150 Lightning

Inspiring us to hit more parks!!! Staying in Visalia is probably better call. Camp site in kings canyon was amazing but it was slim pickings on charging options! ;)
  7. 7,600 Miles, 7 National Parks, 1 Spruce Goose with my F-150 Lightning

Epic! Thanks for the great write up. We have done 7 national Parks but in 1 yr! To do it on just one trip is fantastic! agree, EV in national parks is a great pairing., especially if there are EVSE nearby! Only once did we have range anxiety traveling to a park. Kings Canyon NP was pretty...
  8. Cheating Death... Crossing Death Valley

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing! We have done 5 NP in lighting and did Grand Canyon/joshua tree in December including 3 Yosemite trips. DV is on the list but seemed daunting to charge, thanks for leading the way! we have reservations forSEKI this summer and hoping to hit Lassen in fall!
  9. Living in The Lightning On The Road -- Almost a Year and Counting

Thanks for report and safe travels! glad to hear you are making it work and for giving us all hope lol! We have done 6 national parks since getting truck. We have a 3000#popup and avg 1.7kWh. Once you get your Tesla adapter it hopefully should be a game changer! It’s made it so easy to travel...
  10. Electric Winter Camping Trips in Montana. Used Rivian Charging Station

I heard that they were going to open up to non Rivian EV. But not sure if it’s a slow roll. So far only known RAN site open to us is Joshua Tree. It was pricy but easy to use just used Apple Pay on my watch!
  11. Does Ford allow download of full charging history?

Does it also reset the avg? I’ve kept trip 1 since I got truck and see that miles roll over but does it still keep avg or does it really matter since I didn’t reset? I’ve been at 2.2 kWh pretty much whole time. but that’s mostly hilly suburbs with occasional roadtrip/ highways Just got back...
  12. Dash Cam advice

I went with Fitcam. Like it a lot. Likely better quality/more features app cams out there, but for me it was more bang for the buck/ease of install. Easily can install front cam in under 5 min if handy. And it looks OEM to the untrained eye (my wife!) so can’t tell I spent more money on truck...
  13. First Road Trip from Sacramento to Los Angeles Using Tesla Adapter Not So Good

sorry to hear about your trip, its my fear too when traveling with family. So far we have fared pretty well using Tesla, EA was a mess on 1 camping trip but luckily was able to pivot to plan B so no minimum fuss from fam! I use ABRP connected to dongle to see accurate % and it seems to also...
  14. Lightning towing teardrop trailer cross-country trip report series! [PITTSBURGH ➡️ SEATTLE]

My camper is a 2023 NuCamp Tab 320S with a tongue weight of around 326 pounds, a length of 15.5 feet and a total weight of about 2350 pounds. So far she tows like a dream and while towing my range from 90% is around 135 miles. Feel free to comment! thanks for update! just back from 2nd...
  15. Official looking Lightning spotted @ Yosemite Camp Curry!

2nd trip to park a few weeks ago, and have seen this truck at Curry village/main store lot a few times. I agree with others, its probably amarak contract truck. The rivian stations are nice, even used one at far NE end of park on tioga pass! the plus with camping at Yosemite, is the free...
  16. Waiting for a “June” adapter?

Hey thanks brother, ended up getting an A2Z few weeks ago. Had a camping trip last week and wanted the extra insurance as it was our first "long" trip with trailer. Ended up not needing but still nice to know it was in truck if needed!
  17. Waiting for a “June” adapter?

same 7xxx original may then June. Only the appreciation email so far. My bet to get the A2Z worked out for our June camping trip ;)
  18. Blocking Teslas at Superchargers?

I got my A2Z over weekend, still have June Ford date (original May), but not holding my breath and have a few camping trips in next few weeks. the A2Z hasn't been perfect, having difficult time locking onto NACS and not faulting at truck (red ring). Hoping it "breaks in" and is easier in...
  19. Tinted Front Light Bar
