  1. Trailering - what to expect?

Its been my experience that Wind Resistance is huge. I pull a 7' tall cargo trailer (20' long), and also a dump trailer. Even with the cargo trailer empty, it burns way more electricity than a loaded dump trailer!
  2. 80amp charger questions

I am surprised you are all having the problems with the Ford Charge Station Pro. I installed a 100am circuit for it, and I've never used anything else OTHER THAN the Ford Charge Station Pro (except when traveling of course) - and I havn't had a single problem. I have a Lariat ER.
  3. Front battery

Thank you for your reply Mr. Ford, I'll look into replacing that 12v battery. But I still wonder - does anyone know WHY the 12V battery isn't maintained (trickle charged when needed) when the vehicle is merely parked? To my un-informed mind, it seems it would be such a simple thing?
  4. Front battery

I've always thought it is strange that the charge in the 12V battery isn't maintained (trickle charged when needed) when the vehicle is merely parked. Does anybody know why this is? Twice in the winter my truck has died because the 12V went dead when parked in really cold weather for a...
  5. Suggestion: One-Time Departure Pre-Conditioning

Yes I completely agree! I live in Canada where it gets COLD, and I don't leave for work in the morning at the same time each day! So setting a departure time is almost useless to me.
  6. Will the tariffs affect prices currently on lots?

I think you should BUY NOW. I'm Canadian, and I've been following the news on the Tariffs closely. I've heard on both FOX and also the other news channels that Car Dealerships are loading up their inventory because THEY expect prices to go up - both in Canada and the US. I've heard multiple...
  7. BLUE CRUISE 1 YEAR EXTENSION FOR FREE IS BACK! CHECK YOUR FORD APP. DID MINE THIS MORNING

I have a 2023 Lariet ER, and I'm in ONTARIO, CANADA - AND IT WORKED! I just "bought" another year for $0.00!!! It wasn't there before. (I guess they forgot about Canada) - but now it WAS!!! Thank you for notifying us of this! AND IT WORKS IN CANADA TOO!!!
  8. Yellow wrench of doom has appeared Post#22 {GSM failure}

I read somewhere that we need to remember our Lightings are basically a SmartPhone on wheels. So if you see a problem, just reboot. It solves a LOT of the issues. I know I've experienced it. :)
  9. Curious why some do not use 1 pedal driving.

I'm not a fan of 1pedal driving, maybe its because I'm 58 years old. When I take my foot off the gas, (Ha Ha - I said GAS) - I want the truck to COAST along, not start BRAKING. Thats just me. Also, in WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS, I find 1pedal can put you into a slide easier. Again - thats...
  10. Why ND is great place to own EV

Here in Ontario, Canada I pay 2.8cents a KWH!! Between 11pm and 7am! Do the math on how much THAT costs to drive 10,000 kms!!! LOL!
  11. Why isn’t the Lightning getting more of the gas F150 market?

I wonder if Dealers are pushing people AWAY from EV's because they are worried about their future. All the maintenance of an ICE is a significant revenue stream - and a Lightning requires a LOT LESS maintenance - Could a Ford Dealer survive if it was ONLY EV? I think they would have to scale...
  12. Would you give up your Frunk for more range?

I'd give up the FRUNK for more battery!
  13. Ice & Easy: Winter Driving Tips from Ford

I keep my plug inside a plastic shopping bag, and then when I plug it into the truck I stuff that plastic shopping bag all around the plug into the charging port area. Then next morning when I unplug, I just pull that bag away and no freezing rain or snow has built up around it. LOL
  14. Ice & Easy: Winter Driving Tips from Ford

I want to highlight this: " Did you Know? If you’re heading toward a DC fast charging station (using your vehicle’s navigation or Google Maps via Android Auto), your battery will now start to warm up automatically within 20 miles of your destination. " Really? This works with Android Auto...
  15. Driving in the snow -- stay with Grabbers, Michelin Defenders, snow tires?

I think that the main reason "pickups are the worst in the winter" is the lack of weight in the back. THIS IS NOT THE CASE for a Lightning! The battery weight is spread across the length of the truck, so a LIGHTNING handles much better in the winter, and in snow. I've owned my 2023 Lariat ER...
  16. Selling because I drive too much.

Hi There Tom! I wish you all the best! I am like you a little bit, I yearn for the open road . . . . . I've only owned my EV for just over a year, but I drove 1,000's of road-trip miles on my previous ICE trucks . . . . soon I'm going to start road-tripping with my Lightning (I'm thinking...
