At the time I was a Pepco customer. Two weeks. It was hell. My friend's apartment building flooded because it got so hot in the lobby the fire sprinklers popped.
I use the latest FordPass integration from Marq24 in HACS. https://github.com/marq24/ha-fordpass
The guys who make the pretty graphic with a picture of the truck is really cool. But I don't have the need or patience to make it. I like to keep it simple. Below are screenshots of my home dash...
It's not being dismissed. It's just very limited usefulness. If it works for your very specific purpose, great. However, do not expect anyone to be impressed with that limited use case adding a whopping 4 whole kwh.
MOST retail portable generators are bonded neutral from the factory. The manual will make that very clear, probably with an entire page about it. Any 240v bonded neutral generator will work fine with that setup with no addition parts or work required. If you happen to have an unbonded neutral...
I have a 120 mile round trip commute. The nearest DCFC is 30 minutes away. So 120v charging is not useful at all for anything in my life. Hence the 80 amp FCSP :). I wish my commute was short enough to not need it. The only time I've ever found L1 useful is plugging it overnight at a hotel in...
The user you're replying too hasn't been here in 8 months and posted this in 2023. Considering your position at Ford, I sincerely hope you're aware of the irony your getting here too late. Ford completely dropped the ball on their energy services in every way. You left your customers...
ICE vehicles have a gas engine turning and alternator to generate 12v power supplying the system and keeping the 12v battery charged.
EVs have a 400 volt DC battery, a DC-DC Converter that takes 400vdc in and outputs 12vdc for the low voltage system, with a smaller 12v battery.
The truck's...
MOST large portable generators that one would use to power a house does NOT have built-in GFCI. Hence most homeowners will never experience the issue. An electrician that isn't familiar with generator hookups because they don't normally do them in their line of work probably also will be...
Why would anyone expect to get HARDWARE UPGRADES for free from anyone, ever, for anything?? On what planet does anyone do that? Or think that they're entitled to that? Or get a discount for being on old hardware??? Some people are completely disconnected from reality. Maybe Apple will start...
With all that space between the meter and the outside panel, there is plenty of room to put a 3-pole MTS there. Very straight forward once the meter is pulled to cut the power. This will be the most versatile setup since you can power everything an also mitigate the GFCI issue.
Because it has to handle the normal 200 amp feed when it is on its main power source.
A generator sub panel inside the house next to the panel.
The only way to turn off the power to do that installation is to pull the meter. More expensive, more work, and mostly pointless.
Unless there is another disconnect somewhere not pictured... It appears that outside panel is your main panel and first means of disconnect from outside service. I can only assume the feed to the inside panel is fed from the sub lugs on the outside panel rather than having its own breaker in...
Just because the previous owner did unnecessary things doesn't mean you have to keep doing those unnecessary things. There is absolutely no good reason or code requirement for every single 120v circuit everywhere to have GFCI/AFCI breakers. You can absolutely change two of the unnecessary ones...
Yes, yes, and yes :)
All the electrical engineers like to talk about the "right" way to do it without having to actually deal with the implications (typical). All the engineers designed all of this equipment to not effing work while they sit in the comfort of their chair writing long memos...
I won't beat around the bush like others who are being too nice ? .
The HIS is defunct garbage that does not and never has worked properly due to numerous communication design flaws between the FCSP and truck. Not only that, Ford provides no support and has been lying about "software updates"...
You could free up two slots in your main panel with two double mini breakers. Make yourself a 240v slot adjacent to the main and install a UL listed interlock kit. This maximizes your flexibility since you can now choose what to power up, rather than being limited to only what you have on a...
