  1. Two Year Ownership Expeience

After two years, as of February 27, 2026, I remain very pleased. I have 14,500 miles on my F-150 XLT XR. I use the truck as I planned at purchase. It is mostly used on short trips (<125 miles from home), when I do happen to leave town, and I believe I have charged it 4 times using various fast...

FYI, I have a 2023 I bought new in February ā€˜24, and it has about 14,500 miles. I was quoted $3,670 for 8 yr./75k miles, and $4,840 for 10 yr./100k miles. It would start when my 3/36 ends. $100 deductible. Asked about higher deductible and $200 was the only other option. She said the savings...
  3. Question about 30 amp charging cable kit.

When I bought my 2023 in February ā€˜24, it came with the charging cable kit in the black carry bag. It contained the cable with the truck plug on one end and the box on the other end that you plug the pigtails into, 110v or 220v. And it came with THREE pigtails. One for 110v and two for 220v, and...

  6. First trailer towing experience

Agree, and thought about that. Pulled the pin on each side and laid it flat on the bed for the trip home. With a slight tailwind and only my display to look at, I could only speculate about what I gained.
  7. First trailer towing experience

Yes, it is equipped with a ramp. Here is a sample image…

  10. First trailer towing experience

A little headwind, I would say winds up to 20 mph. As far as preconditioning, I pulled the charging cable and got on the road fairly quickly. Is there something to be done manually to precondition? Sorry if that’s a dumb question, I haven’t studied it enough. Researching that now. Looks like I...

  13. Anyone understand the recent discounts?

Thank you everyone for your input. I ended up buying a 2023 XLT XR. Got the -$7,500 IRS EV, -$500 Farm Bureau, and -$7,500 Cash back. Apparently the other program referenced -$7,500 Cash back and low rate financing. Couldn’t take both. I love the truck.

IRS EV Clean Vehicle Credit $7,500 Retail Bonus Cash $7,500 Cash Back (Program #11170) Simple enough. Here is where my confusion starts: $7,500 and 1.9% APR on select Ford models Retail Bonus Cash (11170) and $7,500 Cash back As I read that it appears to suggest a total of $15,000 cash back...
  15. Dealer Pricing

I test drove a Lightning for the second time, XLT XR, 312A and Max TT package. He’s at $72,650 including sales tax after subtracting the tax credit. I offered $70k cash out the door. He told me that Ford insists that there can be no negotiation on EV’s, so his hands are tied. I’m struggling with...
  16. Now a good time to buy a Lightning?

I’m on my 3rd F-150 in 31 years. ā€˜92, ā€˜00, and currently an ā€˜11 EcoBoost. All rock solid experiences. I test drove a Lightning to rule it out because I thought I wanted a PowerBoost hybrid. I was very impressed and I want to buy a Lightning. I’m ready now, but I can wait a while, my ā€˜11 shows no...
