good morning, I was able to make the change on the IPC for 720-03–02 back to The as built of 4 and the speed limit sign detection and display still seem to be functioning properly. So my take away is that you were correct and that change is indeed unneeded. I will continue to work through them...
True on a computer binary as compared to each feature having a single bit on or off.
higher trims seem to already have this active and this mod would apply to 2024 pro and XLTs which should have had it enabled at the factory but did not.
You are more than welcome to tweak my recommendation...
Yes, I worked off the spreadsheet and google to figure these out... 2024 Dec build XLT 311A. I think what we are seeing and it is going to make things challenging is a more complex scheme of setting features. Instead of a binary 0/1 per feature, it is now a combination where multiple features...
It was supposed to be active from the factory, but apparently Ford screwed it up. You can go to the dealer and ask them to activate it. Tell them to reference the order guide which shows it on Pro and up. If you have forscan, here is the easy fix to implement yourself.
Enable Speed Limit...
Hi Scot, welcome to the $#!@ show that the 24's are. Officially they were not supposed to have the front sensors, but Ford did not remove it from the window stickers or the marketing. Take it to the dealer, show they a copy of the original window sticker (don't give them the original!!!) and...
the trucks all have the camera and this is supposed to be enabled from the factory per the order guide but ford has made such a mess with their software it was not. I tested camera only and it works but is more functional in the fusion mode with the nav data.
Ok, got to the bottom of this. First off, per the order guide the speed limit sign recognition is a standard feature on the PRO and up (so all levels) in 2024. That said it was not enabled on my truck. If you have a 2024 and it is not working (check the for the setting on Sync first) you can...
Does anyone know how to enable the little speed limit sign on the dash with a 12" screen? By default it seems to be off with the 12" (shown on the Nav of the 12") and on with the 15" (not shown on the nav of the 15"). And some 12" trucks (XLT like mine) seem to have it on the dash and others...
as someone who has fought Ford before and won more than my current truck cost, I am up for the fight. This is a $2000 fix so I have to believe they will fix it rather than litigate. The costs will spriral pretty quickly. We will see.
Exactly. They can change stickers on unsold trucks but I bought a truck based on representations from Fords website and the published (and printed) window sticker and I expect it to meet those representations.
From a different perspective. What if ford printed new window stickers for your truck...
Seriously. Bring back homelink and give me a rotary shifter like our expedition. Still can flip the work desk. Shifter is one of the biggest disappointments on this truck. Front sensing aside.
what you are describing is much more complex. It involves software and subjective determinations of the condition or status of a systems. What we are talking about it simple. Does it have sensors or not. Not how well the sensors work. Much cleaner.
Then it will be a lemon and they can buy it back in 2 years. Litigated with Ford before. When it is a systemic issue like this they do not want it to blow up into a class action. They fixed one of the problems already so we are on the right track.
I picked up my XLT last week. I brought both of these items to the attention of the dealer. They were able to successfully order the tailgate assist and install it prior to delivery so that is fixed. They opened a tech case with ford on the forward sensing and Fords initial response was “we’re...
Following. Pretty close to purchasing an XLT and just checked. Same problem. No front sensors, but they are listed on the window sticker and ford web site.
